Tossing and turning

The drive to the airport felt like forever, not to mention how stiff my legs- my entire body has become in this car! The only thing keeping me from falling asleep was the fact that Natasha had her radio blasted playing the top 20 on the radio, which personally are songs that are so overrated and played 100 times a day until you've heard them so much that once it begins to play again you almost have a mental breakdown. But hey, I mean that's her kind of music and I cant change what she likes, but this definitely is not my cup of tea. Im into indie rock, alternative rock, and music that makes me feel alive and happy. Not everything needs to be a dance party. It took about an hour and a half to arrive at the airport, by the time we got unloaded and walked into the building, it was 8:15 am. From the looks of the schedule, our plane should be leaving in about 15 more minutes. We continued walking, looking for a place to wait when we finally found the rest of our group, 15 more students from our class were standing in a circle around Mrs. Erendale. We joined the group and said our hello's quietly as Ms. Erindale continued to speak, she went over the rules and instructions of how she expected us to act on the plane, as if we were children or animals that cant contain ourselves, she must think we are crazy. Otherwise, she wouldn't need to lecture us on how to sit properly on an airplane, but as she finished her sentence our airplane was called to be boarded. ---------------- " Alright class, listen up!" Ms. Erendale called out from the front of the plane. " I expect you ALL to be on your best behavior on this flight and on this trip, just to refresh your minds if you weren't paying attention to what I had said earlier." I rolled my eyes as she continued to speak, " I realize there is only twenty of you but I do expect you to remember a lot about what we have learned about this island so far." She yelled out again. "Let's hear it, people!" A boy in the front of the plane, Liam, raised his hand. "Okay, Liam lets hear it," She said pointing her scrawny, pointy finger at him. " Crystal Lake Island is also known as Water Lilly Island due to the ancient myth about the 'Water Lilly' mermaids who haunt the Ocean." "Correct. Anyone else?" Another person raised their hand. "Only certain people can see these creatures with the power of one simple gemstone that the 'mermaids' kept safe for years but it has been missing and some say that it's still around these islands today." The girl stated. "Yes Ariel, very good." Ms. Erindale said. " All of you will be doing your research project on these creatures and I expect them to be done by the end of the two weeks this way the can be marked before finals. Yes?" She asked. "Yes, Ms. Erindale" the entire plane erupted in unison with the reply. ------ The front of the plane was filled with the rest of the class and my group got to sit in the very back with the least amount of Windows, luckily I got one. Eliza sat on her own so she could focus on studying for the research paper. Or so she said, she was probably listening to her music or reading a corny romance Novel. Natasha's sat beside her boyfriend Colton; of course - and they were already cuddled up under a blanket getting ready for the long flight. Jackson decided to sit beside me, I got the window seat and he sat on the outside. "Hey curly haired girl, you look sleepy." He said as he patted my head. "Yeah, I didn't really get much sleep last night ...." I sighed. "Get some rest, we got a long flight." He motioned for me to rest my head on his shoulder and so I did. I held onto my necklace and placed my head on his shoulder and let my self-relax. My eyes began to close and soon I drifted into a slumber. *** "EMZY!" I heard my name being called out by a familiar voice but I wasn't yet awake. A warm hand was placed on my cheek, my eyes jolted open as I sat up. "Huh... What? What?" I asked in a hurry to find out what was wrong. "You were screaming in your sleep!" Jack stated. "You woke up the whole plane!" I sat up high enough to look around, everyone had turned around in their seats and their eyes were fixated on me and my messy red locks of hair that were tossed around in directions that didn't make any sense. I quickly fixed my hair to the proper sides and rubbed my eyelids. "I'm so sorry everyone, just a bad dream," I stated and I sunk back down into my seat so I couldn't be seen. "You gave me a heart attack, you were tossing and turning. You even started crying... Look at you....." Jackson held my face in the palms of both his hands and gently rubbed his thumb back in forth against my right cheek just beneath the crease of my eye. I leaned my head into his hand allowing him to just hold me in them for a while. I looked up at his dark brown soothing eyes and allowed my body to relax again. He swung his arms around my neck and pulled me in close, he felt so warm, I couldn't resist I had to hug him back. I adjusted my self and got into a comfortable position, I nestled my face into the crevice of his neck and closed my eyes breathing in the smell of his cologne - Mahogany wood. Oh, how I needed this.
