The rest of the work day felt like a slow, painful crawl. I sat at my desk and kept my head down. I felt like everyone was looking at me, even though they weren't. My eyes were red and puffy. No matter how many times I went to the bathroom to splash cold water on my face, I still looked like a girl who had been destroyed.
