Something was wrong.
The castle felt it first.

The wind outside howled louder than usual, rattling against the high stone walls like a warning. Guards at the gates straightened instinctively, their hands tightening around their weapons without knowing why.

His golden eyes darkened slightly as he turned toward the northern entrance.
“…What is that?” one of the guards murmured under his breath.

And definitely not welcome.
“Stay alert,” he said coldly, his voice cutting through the tension.
