“The Queen has returned.”
The voice did not belong to Seraphina.
It was deeper.
Older.
Ancient enough to make every wolf in the courtyard freeze in terror.
The storm above the fortress exploded violently.
Lightning ripped across the sky.
Silver power spiraled around Seraphina’s body like a living thing, lifting her slowly off the shattered ground.
Her eyes glowed completely white now.
Empty.
Terrifying.
Dominic stared at her.
For the first time in years
He didn’t know what to do.
“Seraphina.”
No response.
Only the storm answering him.
The wolves surrounding the fortress had all dropped to their knees now, trembling beneath the pressure pouring from her body.
Even the dark wolves looked afraid.
Kael’s expression had become deadly serious.
