Hunter's POV The morning sun brought forth gentle light rays; gentle light rays which manages to pass through my bedroom window and fall on my skin. It's been over two hundred years since i dare come in contact with the sun light, and for those few seconds the sun rays sits on my skin, i strangely felt my humanity again; i felt myself again after almost two centuries, and didn't feel like a bloodsucking monster who have killed innocence. "Ouch!" I muttered in pain and quickly flinch my body away from the sun rays. For just a few seconds in it, the sun had seriously burn the part of my skin that was expose to it's light rays, and my skin which was once white have now completely change into a brownish red color. "damnit!" I utter as i glance at my dry brown skin. Normally my healing factor would have instantly kicked in by now and the pain from the burned skin and the burned skin itself would have already vanish, but for some strange reasons my healing factor was taking longer than it should to kick in. "Is it gone?" I excitedly ask myself hoping that my healing factor has somehow disappeared and i was slowly going back to my human self. "Damnit!" I uttered later with a disappointed tone. My skin just healed up and i was still a bloody vampire. "Why" "Why won't it just end?" I frowned at the healed up skin and ask myself. In the past i would be excited that i had an healing factor and it was working perfectly, but it's been over two centuries now and all the people i knew and love are all dead. I'm sick of being alone, sick of being the only one with this curse, and absolutely-- "Sick of this world." I loudly said and stop staring at my skin. I had things to do despite being a vampire, so i headed to the bathroom to take a quick shower. It's Tuesday and normally i stay up all day in my apartment before going out at night to work, but i noticed that i am almost out of synthetic blood and i needed to go get some from my dealer before i get hungry again and go on another rampage. My last rampage claimed the lives of four innocent woman in the last city i lived in, all because i tried to live a week without drinking blood. I won't let that happen again. "Wait!" "What's that smell?" I paused at my bathroom door and nervously ask myself after suddenly precieveing the smell of a human. Strangely, the smell was coming from the floor on the other side of my master bedroom. "No please, not another one." I heard myself saying this as i dawdled to the other side of the bed. The bed was just few meters away from the bathroom door, but it felt like i was walking yards. "No." "Please no." I uttered after first spotting the legs of someone. If my heart was still beating it would be beating really fast by now. "Oh s**t!" I screamed but not too loudly, and staggered back a little with my hands on top of my head. The legs i just saw belongs to a dead naked lady who looked pale, dry and had huge bite holes on the side of her neck. Every single blood on the lady's body was sucked out of her with the way her skin was looking while her face had a scared look on it. I was the cause of her demise. "s**t" I turned to the wall behind me and began hitting it. "s**t" "s**t" "s**t" I hit it repeatedly till blood starts dripping down from my fist and the wall. Before moving to this city i had promise myself no more killing, but now it's been barely two weeks since i moved her and i have already killed a person. If only i could control my urges to consume blood all this won't been happening, and this lady we still be alive. "Damnit!" I scream out but more audibly and punch the wall one last time with all my strength. Doing that made the building i lived in shake a little, but at this point i don't care if the neighbors suspect me or not, i am too piss to care about anything right now. "I have to go and get those blood." I said to myself with a serious tone while staring at my blood stained wall. I am sure a fool for believing that i could live a normal live with just that synthetic blood, but it looks like my other side craves the natural, time to time and that's why this killings happen. Nevertheless, i will still continue consuming the synthetic blood. It's far better than animal blood which makes me extremely weak and more safe to get than human blood. "Great, another clean up." I turn around to face the person i have yet again killed and scoff. I then slowly walk to the other side of my bed, drag out a huge black plastic bag that was big enough to put the body of the victim and remove of my belongings that was inside. After about five minutes i had already put the lady's body and clothes inside the bag and clean up my room. I wish i knew her name or remembered where we met though, but i guess she was probably one of those city girls who wanted a good night experience from a handsome guy like me, but got the worst experience of her life. "There." After stuffing the lady's body in the black bag and zipping it shut, i muttered and walk to the bathroom to rinse my hands and take my shower. When night comes i will go and dispose off her body, but now i must first go and get that synthetic blood or the people in this apartment building i am living is in big trouble. * * * * * * * * * After about two minutes in the showers. I came out smelling nice, and quickly clean up my body, wear my clothes, tie my long hair in my favourite face-fitting bun style. I also applied sun cream all over my body to reduce the amount of UV rays from hitting me directly, and then step out of my apartment with a umbrella that also can be convertable into a walking stick. Strangely, I got the things days after a drunk driver mistakenly slam his car into me while i was trying to cross the road after my shift at night. So cause i got hit just outside my work place and boss, and literally everybody in the building saw how the car ran into me, i had to buy this convertable walking stick umbrella and pretended my doctor said i needed it to walk. "Wait.." I was about to leave, but before i head out i scale through my apartment with my eyes to see if anything was out of place. The body of the lady i found this morning has been hidden somewhere safe, so if any person enters my apartment without me knowing, he won't find anything suspicious. So everything was good. "Okay." I rushed out of my apartment with my convertable walking stick on my left hand. I made sure i use it to support myself while walking through my floor corridor, even though nobody was outside their apartment to see me. "It's almost eleven" I said as i take a glance at the vintage wrist watch on my right hand. The heat from the sun in los Angeles always double anytime it is passes eleven, and that's not even the worst part. My dealer only like to do business in the morning and if i don't make it before eleven and don't get that blood, things are not going to get ugly. "f**k this." I uttered and quickly use my enhance speed to raise to the end of the corridor where the stairs was. I was too late and nobody was there anywhere. "Should i just?" I contemplate if whether i should walk through the stairs and waste a lot of time or just breeze through it. I can clearly hear human heartbeats coming from the third and last floor, so they are people could spot me using my powers. But if i don't use it i might waste a lot of precious time. "No, i shouldn't take any chances." I stated and get ready to just walk the stairs, but as i was about taking a step down the stairs, my nose suddenly got hit with an odd smell. A very odd smell that was coming from the upper floor and was carried by a female. "Strange indeed." I muttered as i try to make sense of the smell, but couldn't find anything. As a vampire who have lived two centuries, i have somehow figure out how to read the humans emotions from the type of smell their body emanate, but although i can read this one from her own smell, i can't read the other she was carrying. It was strange and i needed to investigate more. "The blood can wait." I said under my breath and sharply followed the smell till it lead me straight to the abandon elevator at the other end of the corridor. "It is strong now." I muttered and repeatedly press the button of the elevator till it eventually opened up. "Wha--" I could barely say anything because i was confused by what i was seeing. The smell i precievied earlier indeed came from a girl and she was the one in the elevator, but she was squatting in sure an usual manner in the elevator. Her heart also began beating very fast all of a sudden and it made me wonder if it's because she suspect i am not human.
