Goodbye

Belle

I’ve had a great time with my family. We had a lovely brunch, fruit, scones, tea, biscuits and sandwiches. They all understand my decision to leave with Alex today. I’m still waiting for Alex to join us. He was packing my stuff for me but he shouldn’t be long now.

“Ah belle, I’m so happy for you” my mum said for the hundredth time.

“Thank you mum. Are you sure your going to be ok, I feel terrible leaving you.” I say with sadness.

“Belle, I’ll always be ok. Plus I’ve got a grand baby on the way!” My mums eyes light up. At least she has something to look forward too.

“I’ll make a start on packing. Thanks for an amazing brunch as always mum” I kissed the top of her head as I got up. I sigh to myself and go upstairs. I pull out my suitcase, this won’t take long as I don’t really have lots of stuff. I pack my clothes and leave some that I don’t wear. I pick up my toiletries and my pill. Although I’ve never touched a man, well up until last night, I’ve been on the pill for 1 year. I hear a car pull up outside. I look out the window and see Alex. My heart beats faster at the sight of him. He really is amazing. I get the last few bits together and take my stuff downstairs. Alex is already inside chatting to my family. I stop at the door, no one has noticed me. I stand and take the view in for a while, this is perfection. Alex calls me making me jump, I was lost in my own world.

“Belle, are you ok?” Alex asked, concern written in his face.

“Yes Alex, I’ll always be perfect whilst your around” I smiled back, feeling my cheeks heat up. Alex chuckles quietly to himself.

“Do you want to leave tonight or tomorrow? There really is no rush belle, whenever your ready” Alex smiled.

“I’m ready to leave now. I just need to say goodbye once more, it’s easier to leave now rather than long out the goodbyes” I sigh my eyes tearing up. Alex pulled me in close and kissed the top of my head. I know this is the right thing to do. I would follow Alex to the end of the earth. I look up into Alex’s eyes and nod my head. He released me from the embrace.

“We are going to leave. Thank you mum for always being here for me. For loving me unconditionally and being the most amazing mum any girl could wish for. You are more like a best friend!” My mum is sobbing, my eyes have been streaming since I opened my mouth.

“I love you mum. Please come and visit us soon and we will be back as soon as we can.” I looked towards Alex who nodded.

“Of corse you are all invited to the Luna ceremony...I’ll send the details as soon as it’s been arranged. Thank you for raising such a beautiful woman. I promise to take care of her until my very last breath.” Alex spoke from his heart. This made me cry even harder. He truly is perfect.

“Brad, take care of jen! She is the best thing that’s ever happened to you. And please visit when you can! Jen take care of this loser for me please” we all laughed.

“Alex, thank you for accepting my daughter. I know you will both make brilliant leaders. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you. I love you both. Take care, drive safe and let me know when you arrive!” My mum pulled me in. We sobbed and said goodbye. Brad pulled me in next I hugged him then punched him in the arm. I turned to jen and gave her a hug too. I took one last look at my family and then walked out the door with Alex.

We got into Alex’s 4x4.

“Belle, your family will miss you and I know you will miss them. We will sort out visits and everything but let’s get you home first. I’m so sorry for taking you from your family. I hope I don’t let you down!” Alex spoke with sadness.

I looked at Alex in his beautiful eyes and took his face in my hands.

“Alex, you were made for me and I for you. Please don’t apologise for taking me anywhere. I would walk until the ends of the earth to find you and keep you. You could never let me down Alex. Now please, take us home “ Alex’s face light up by the time I finished what I needed to say. He reached out and pulled my face in for a kiss, passion and love was radiated through our lips. Everything felt perfection this moment..
