I wake up at 7am. I have work for 3 hours today. I asked for half a day so I could get my stuff ready for tomorrow. I’m turning 18. A wave of excitement courses through me. I jump out the bed and turn the shower on. I step in and let the warm water wake me a little. Oh s**t. “What?!” Marie is on alert. Marie Andy will be at work. “I’ll rip his head off any day now. He can’t touch us again.” If he comes near us I’ll be sure to tell him. No point in thinking about it, he won’t do anything when the office is full of people.

I get out the shower and put on black fitted trousers and a white frilly long sleeve shirt. Perfect. I put on a little makeup and leave the house. I get to work in no time I take a breath and step in. There are people everywhere. Then I spot him, Andy. Cowering behind his desk...what’s gotten into him?

“He knows we will rip him apart” Marie chuckles. I can’t help a smug smile play on my lips. Andy will not look at me now. No one has noticed the change in atmosphere so I go straight to the staff room and make a start.

3 hours pass smoothly and I leave the office. I realise I’ve not got much to do for tomorrow. I wonder... ‘hey Alex, how are you?’ I text Alex. Can’t do no harm. He seems like a really trustworthy man and he seems to like me?! Must be mad. A couple of minutes late my phone vibrates ‘hey belle. I’m good thank you. And how are you?’

‘I’m okay thank you. What are your plans for the day?’

‘I’ve not got any yet, I’ve not long woken up, how about you?’ Alex replies

‘I’ve finished work, only half day. Now I’m left with the rest of the day to fill’ I feel nervous. Why am I trying to insinuate something.

‘Fancy lunch?’ My heart speeds up.

‘I think I can fit you in ;)’ “smooth one” Marie chuckles.

‘Meet me at the belle and bull restaurant in 30 minutes?’ Alex replied. Damn that place is fancy, I should run home and change.

‘Make it 45 minutes and you’ve got a deal ;)’

‘Perfect, see you soon ;)x’ ohhhh damn, I sprint home and run up stairs. I chuck off my work clothes and have a quick wash. I go to my wardrobe and decide on a long maxi dress, it’s navy with white flower details and splits up the legs. I put some navy flat shoes to match. I pull my hair into half up half down pony tail and freshen my makeup. Right let’s do this. I’ve got 20 minutes to get there. s**t, I call a taxi to get me there and I arrive 10 minutes late. I pay the taxi driver and step outside. I soon smell Alex and then he walks over to me. He was sat on a bench waiting for me. His face lit up and he had the widest smile. His eyes trailed up and down my body. I’m sure he just licked his lips and his eyes get darker.

“Hey Alex “ I smile nervously.

“Wow, hello belle, you. Look. Amazing!” Alex breathed out. I felt my cheeks redden and I looked away.

“Are you blushing belle?” Alex laughed.

“No. Now shhhhh!” I laughed back. ‘He got you good there’ Marie laughed in my head.

“Shall we, ma’am?” Alex said in a husky voice. Whilst pointing to the door.

“We shall, sir” I giggled back. Alex was smiling again such a softness to his face. He is handsome.

We get inside and are shown to our table. We chat for a while and then food is served. The food is amazing. But I have other things on my mind at the moment. I’m turning 18 tomorrow and I might find my mate. What if he doesn’t like me? What if it’s Andy. The horror must have shown on my face as Alex questioned me.

“Belle, are you ok?” His face changed he looked like he was on high alert.

“Sorry Alex I’m fine.” I lied.

“Belle, I know we’ve not known each other long but I’m pretty sure that was a lie..” he made a funny voice at the end of his sentence causing me to laugh.

“Oh Alex, how can you know me already?! I’m just a little worried about tomorrow. What if I find my mate, what if he doesn’t like me, or I don’t like him. What if, if he...rejects me?!” My heart ached a little with the thought of that.

“Belle, you mustn’t think like that. Take each day as it comes. Plus if he were to hurt you, I’ll rip his head from his shoulders” Alex smirked, he didn’t seem worried, he actually seemed amused by my questions and yet seemed sincere.

“Ah thank you Alex. I’m pretty sure Marie could handle that though, she is desperate to rip someone’s head off...you haven’t met her already have you?” I giggled.

“Is that your wolf? She sounds lovely! I can’t wait to meet her...neither can max” ‘ooh max, I need to see max’ Marie spoke softly. In time dear , in time.

“She can’t wait to meet you both either...believe me” I felt myself blush again. Alex chuckles and carried on eating.

“Are you still coming to my party tomorrow?” I ask Alex with hope pushing through my voice.

Alex stopped eating, wiped his mouth and looked me dead in the eye, my stomach doing flips

“Belle, I would not miss your birthday party for anything in the world. I can not wait to give you your present tomorrow.” He smiled again his eyes sparkling.

“Thank you Alex.” I blushed again.

We finished our meals. I tried to pay for mine but Alex would not let me.

“Fancy a walk?” Alex asked.

“Sure I’ve for a hour or so left”

“Do you trust me?” Alex caught me off guard.

“Erm I don’t know you but yeah I think I do” I replied sincerely.

“Close your eyes.” I did as I was told, Alex told me to hold onto his jacket and he led me somewhere. My senses come alive, I could smell the trees and water like a lake or something. We walked for 10 minutes in silence. Alex stopped and I walked into the back of him

“Haha belle, keep your eyes closed” Alex chuckled causing me to laugh too. We walked a little further, I could hear the water now. We stopped again and Alex told me to reach behind and sit down. I did as he said.

“Open” he whispered in my ear causing me to shiver.

“Wow” was all I could manage. This place is beautiful. There is a small waterfall with rocks and beautiful wild flowers. You could hear the birds and wildlife flourishing here.

“It’s beautiful” I said whilst taking in the breathtaking view. Why haven’t I found this place?

“How did you find this? Is it in our territory?” I ask

“I’ve been doing a lot of exploring whilst I’ve been here. Yes it’s in your territory. “ Alex replied.

I draw my attention to Alex “can I ask you something.”

Alex looked at me smiled and nodded.

“Why are you really here?” I know it’s nothing to do with me but I was curious.

“Honestly, I am searching for my mate.” He seemed slightly sad.

“Oh did she run away?” I innocently ask.

“No belle, I’ve not found her yet. I was searching for her.” He replies still looking sad.

“Why waste time sat here, with me?” I asked shocked.

“I think I’ve found her belle. “ Alex had a small smile and a sparkle in his eye.

I instantly smiled. “What are you waiting for? Go get your mate!” I practically shouted at him.

“Well belle, I’ve got this friend, who is kind of special to me, it’s her birthday and I promised to attend her party...” Alex said sarcastically and then giggled. Ah he is annoying.

“Alex please don’t let me hold you back” I said a hint of sadness. Marie is jealous it’s quite funny listening to her responses believe me.

“I promise after your party, I’ll go get my girl” Alex winked at me making me laugh. He really is amazing, I hope his mate is kind and loves him wholeheartedly he deserves that.

“So Alex, where are you from?” I asked curious again.

“I’m from the crimson moon pack” Alex said this with a strong voice. My next question come out faster than I expected.

“Who are you?” “Sorry Alex, you don’t have to answer that one, I was meant to think it not say it out loud” Alex giggled and I released the breath I had been holding in.

“I am soon to be alpha of the crimson moon pack” power radiated from him. I instantly bowed down to him.

“Please excuse me alpha, I am sorry for the questions” I said nervously. Again Alex started chuckling making me relax.

“Don’t be silly belle, you are my friend, plus I’m not quite alpha yet..I need my Luna” Alex smiled brightly.

“I hope you find her soon. I’m sorry alph...Alex. I need to go home now. I’ll see you tomorrow?”

“Belle...please, I’m your friend. Yes I’ll see you tomorrow I told you I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” He looked me dead in the eyes making my stomach flip for the hundredth time. I turned and followed our scents back out.

I walk home, it gives me a chance to try to clear my head. Alex is everything any woman could ever want, he is kind, caring, compassionate, strong, handsome “sexy” Marie piped up. I’ll give you that yes he is sexy. Why has he not found his mate? Plus he is an alpha! I knew he was of rank but I expected gamma or even beta never alpha! He seems too gentle. The walk home didn’t take long enough but I went inside.

“Hey bro, mum, jen” I smiled.

“Why you all dressed up eh??” Brad said suspiciously. “I was seeing a friend if you must know” my cheeks warmed up. f**k.

“Is that friend a boy?” Brad asked mockingly.

“Yes he is, you’ll meet him tomorrow...but we are literally JUST FRIENDS” I shout the last part and go up to my room. I hear everyone downstairs giggling. I’m not hungry after the massive lunch. I change into my pyjamas and get in bed.
