Chapter 4

Eli dropped back on the bed, slightly out of breath. It was not often he was forced to this extent. When he closed his eyes to wipe the sweat off his face with a hand towel lying on the nightstand, the image of a brunette filled his mind. He quickly shook his head, casting her out of his mind. He had no reason to be caught up with a complete stranger as he never intended to encounter her again. It was strange how she had managed to burrow her way back into his mind. As the banishment of the stranger solidified itself in his mind, he lay in bed staring at his watch as it ticked closer to midnight. Ensuring he did not overstay his welcome, he did not bat an eye. It was often he found himself in unfamiliar surroundings; losing interest in his surroundings was easy. There was little to study in this case as the lights were off, although he could make out shadows of objects. Not like he was interested. The only light came from under a door which he believed was the bathroom. As the door began to open, it revealed a rather strange canvas hanging on the wall. It appeared to be a woman with a disfigured face sitting in a chair with a cat perched on her shoulder. Eli never understood art but found himself associating with those with a rather strange taste. “It’s a Dora Maar au Chat replica.” An exposed beauty emerged from that same door. She had caught Eli attempting to decipher the artwork. He turned his attention back to the bare beauty before him; having already explored her essence, he wasn’t as impressed this time around. The silhouette of her body was well complemented by the illustrative lighting emanating from behind. Although no imperfections graced her body, Eli felt no emotion towards this woman. Nonetheless, he could sense the lust she expelled towards him. She crept closer as she swayed her hips towards the bed. “Round two,” she said with a wink. “Sorry, have to run,” jumping out of bed in one swift move. “Why are you in such a hurry?” A seductive tone transmitted through her lips. “Pumpkin, I have a plane to board.” It was true but omitted a minute detail, he did not have to board it that day. Eli's number one rule was never to spend the night. He was not going to start by breaking it now. “Take me with you.” Eli was surprised to hear his one-night stand cling to him. “No,” was all he could say. “Oh, come on.” She whispered as she circled the bed toward Eli. It was always the same situation with most of the women he bedded. Believing they would be the ones to develop a relationship with him. To be fair, they knew who he was before locking in a fierce session. “Look pumpkin,” The truth was he had forgotten her name. He stared for a second, attempting to recall the day he met her to no avail. “I will have my assistant call you.” He watched as her eyes dropped in disappointment. As quickly as her lust was dismantled by his words, it reignited as she lunged towards Eli. Taken by surprise, unable to react to her advances. He now found himself with an uninvited prodigy of a tongue down his windpipe. The fruity taste of their drink earlier that night caressed the surface of her tongue. Still, the urgency was written all over that tongue as it aggressively wiggled inside. Eli sensed her desperation as her tongue continued to pulsate with every turn. Who was he to deny a lustrous uncovered goddess? “This changes nothing,” he had pulled away for a split second to reaffirm his position. His statement was left unanswered as a pair of vicious arms surrounded his head. It was not long before he was engulfed by her mouth. Taking it a step further, she coiled her limbs around his torso. He would have to give her credit for her tenacity; maybe if he were another man, he would have been interested in pursuing her further. But for Eli, that would take too much effort to develop a fruitless relationship. Ashley!. He yelled internally as he managed to track down her name between her aggressive passion. Refusing to let down on her desire, Eli gave in to her demands. They wrestled their way over to the still-lit restroom. It was a struggle to find the switch as they were still fully wrapped in each other. With a stroke of luck, they stood in darkness, now making their way towards the sheets. To Eli, it would make no emotional difference had he walked out that night, leaving her behind. Eli glanced at his watch to notice it was 5:00 am, knowing he needed to get out before it was too late. Ashley was curled to his left, slowly trying to slide out from the sheets, being careful not to stir her as she slept. It was like stepping on pins and needles for what seemed to be an hour, miserably failing to escape. With every twitch of his body, prompting the caramel dish before him to pull him closer, freedom was impossible. He peaked at his watch once again to find it was 5:15 am, sighing in frustration. He wondered how he always managed to end up in these predicaments. But just as he felt escape was unattainable, Ashley turned her body to face away from him. He gently inched his way off the bed, seizing his clothes on the way out. He stood outside the flat, thinking he would make his assistant send her flowers. He was soon distracted by the midnight body of a Lamborghini that stood before him. His heart skipped as the wings opened, allowing him to enter. Although finding joy was difficult for Eli, discovering it on his wheels was easy. As he ducked in, not able to avoid the empty passenger seat. Only he has driven in this car and had no intention of anyone else to enter it. Before driving off in his aerodynamic vessel, he looked down at his phone, finding an email from Katiana informing him they had hired a new executive assistant. Due to Eli’s upcoming business trip, she would begin after his return. “This will be fun,” he smirked as the engine roared, giving signs of life.
