A shiver traveled down Eli’s spine as darkness surrounded him. The light of hope disappeared as the light flickered away from under the door. He could only manage to continue staring at the closed door that hid a magnificent treasure. His gaze was only removed by the sudden ring of his phone. He was surprised that someone would be calling at this time. Looking at his phone, dread engulfed his eyes.
“Hello,” the voice that responded caused Eli to pull away from the phone with several wrinkles immediately appearing over his forehead and his nose. There was no hiding the pain her voice caused him.
