Chapter 4: Smell

Bailey's POV:

I was surprised when luke entered the house at same time mind linking me. It's been a long time since I open this mind link again. I admit that I miss communicating with my favorite cousin ever.

'Bailey, what's that intoxicating scent? are you with someone?' He asked thru mind link but I didn't get what he was talking about. I know that he's familiar with human scent and there's no way that he will be asking me that out of the blue. And me, I am still wearing my necklace so that means no werewolf can smell my scent even my pack and blood related.

'What kind of scent? I'm with a human. are you kidding me? have you forgotten a human scent already?' I responded and I know he's walking toward the kitchen and suddenly he's already standing beside me staring at Ari whose busy chewing her food.

'My Mate, She's Mine. A human?'

'Luke, come on. She's maybe a human but dont underestimate her ever. She's an amazing person.' I replied and I know luke is not disappointed at all that his mate is a human. He was just shocked at all this year he cant find a mate and it turns out to be a human whose from another part of the continent.

'I know, word isn't enough to express may thanks to you for bringing her here, Lily.' Luke said while still looking at Ari. Lily is my wolf name actually but that's a nickname to me by luke.

'Come on, dont just stand there, talk to her. She might get scared of your gazed.' I teased him

We ate there in Silent but Luke still mind linking me

'Wanna go run, later?' He asked.

'Yes! I love that. It's been almost a year in a human form. I miss shifting. Lily just wanna come out.' I responded with an excitement.

'Still covering your scent. what if your Mate is just out there waiting for you, don't you have even a little conscience?'

'Stop it, Luke. Im enjoying my freedom.' luke sighed with my respond. He knows me so well, we grew up together. He's been there also when my parents died. He wanna fight but we were just so little that we cant even shift to a wolf form.

'Can you tell me more about her, Lily? You've said earlier that she is an amazing person. Im excited to know more about her.'

'It's been 7 months since she started working at mum's cafe. I tried to get close to her but she's just so secretive. She didn't even mention her parents to me. and she live alone in a small apartment near the cafe but she didn't even let me visit her.' Well its true she didn't open up about anything. I just know that she wanted to pursue her studies and become a nurse during my interview with her and asked her why she wanted to work in the cafe.

'I can sense that she has lot in her mind. Sadness, grief.' Luke said. Luke is so observant or maybe mate bond is starting to work since they touch each other earlier thru handshake.

When were done eating, I headed to my room. We will not be staying at the same room with ari since Olivia insisted that she should stay at the guess room for her own privacy. and luke also wanted her to be comfortable here. Well, that's a mate thing, overprotection.

I informed Ari that I'll be out tonight to visit some nearby relatives but the truth is we'll gonna run the forest with luke. I know Luke is up to something. He needed help from me to get close to his mate.

I took a shower, get my pair of running shoes, my sport jeans and tops and headed outside to see luke is waiting for me. we walked for about 5 minutes and when we reached the forest we started to shift to a wolf form.

'Run faster, Lily!' Luke called.

I was just silent running, feeling the trees, the forest. coz Lily miss this so much. Sorry Lily for keeping you hidden in my human form for too long. I murmured to myself. It's okay, I understand why you have to do that. Lily responded.

We reached the cliff. Luke headed behind the tree to shift back to human form. I also did the same when he's done.

"So how does it feel to shift?" He asked.

"I feel relaxed. You wanna ask something, am I right luke?"

"You'll leave after Morreth's wedding. Do me a favor, dont leave as early as that. Please stay here for a while. I just want to get closed to my mate." He said directly to the point.

"Your wish is my command, Alpha!" I responded, teasing him.

"Thanks. Now its time to dive.!" He exclaimed Happily.

Oh my poor cousin. He's been waiting for his mate his entire life im so happy that he finally found her.

After the cliff diving, We headed back home in a wolf form. It's 5 in the morning and I needed to get back there earlier. Ari is a morning person, I dont want her to see me just got home in the morning.

I talked to Luke thru the mind link since we were in a wolf form. 'If I wont be able to wake up before lunch, please do visit your mate and tour her around the city. I promise her to tour around but since were getting home late I may not be able to fulfil that promise. Also, bring her to Thunderwood School of Med. she might want to enroll here someday.'

'Okay Lils. Copy that!' Luke said excitedly.

'I'll go to the pack house and visit your mum tomorrow.'

I arrived at Woods' house. That's the name of our house since it is where all the Woods resides. Jackson Woods Ballinger, the eldest and the Alpha of the pack. Since he is the first born, He gets the title and power when grandfather retired. Followed by my father Jarred Woods, Audrey, Olivia and Morreth is the youngest. The pack house is originally where family should reside but grandfather build a house 5 minutes walked away from the mansion and moves his children here and give the space in the mansion to his people. Only the Alpha, Luna and their children to stay with his people and that make him the kindest Alpha of the generation.

I arrived at home at exactly 5:45. I run to my room, took a shower and go to bed. I know Luke is very much excited for the day to guide Arya around the city.

I am still half awake when I heard Ari go down the stairs and smelled werewolves coming inside the house and heard Jackson calling his sister Olivia. He's always like this when the day started he will check his siblings before starting his day. This never gets old.
