Chapter 13: Getting to know

Luke's POV cont...

Everyone is enjoying the party, some of the pack members are already drunk. It's already midnight and I decided to check on my mate. I informed dad that I gotta go home thru mind link.

I immediately go to my room as soon as I arrived and found my mate asleep in the mini theatre. Oh, she didn't watch movie, she reads a book instead but it's a history book. An ancient history book about us, werewolf.

'Happy to know that she's interested in werewolf.' My wolf said in excitement. I ignored him and focus on my mate. I stared at her while listening to the song that currently plays on, take me home, country road. One of my favorite song of John Denver. My god, we do share the same taste in music with this beautiful lady....

'Hey, would you transfer her to a more comfortable place before dreaming about her. Or maybe you want me to take controll--'

'Save it, marcus!' I cut him off and grab my mate gently and lay her down on my bed. Her sleep is so deep that she didn't even move when I put her down.

I stared at her beautiful face, those small pointed nose, rosy lips, sharp jawline... She's a goddess.

If I stay here for another minute I cant hold on anymore so I decided to grab a pair of clothes and leave the room.

I took a shower and lay on the sofa, I started planning for tomorrow, for another day and another day with her. So this is the feeling of finally finding a mate, huh! I talked to Marcus.

'Yep! I didn't even wanna go out knowing that she's now within our reach.' Marcus replied.

'Gotta sleep, we have to save energy for tomorrow. So much Alpha and Mate thing to do...'

'Goodnight, Luke.

'Night, Marcus.'

I woke up when the sun shine on my face from the open window. Oh yes, I open it before I fall asleep. I grab my phone to check what time it is. It's 9 in the morning, oh god did I oversleep. And my mate, she's a morning person I need to check on her. Maybe she already left, I jumped off from the couch and run toward my room. I felt relieved when I saw her still lying on my bed facing back from the door. Oh moon goddess, thank you for saving me. But is she really still asleep?

'Let's check it out.' Marcus said and I walked toward the direction of my bed and yes she is totally sleeping. I turned my back and headed downstairs. I'll prepare something for breakfast. I smiled with the thought that I'm going to prepare a breakfast for my mate. I even forget to take the elevator. So I ended up using the stair.

When I get inside the kitchen, I saw someone inside, My beta Alexer.

"So, what are you doing here in my kitchen early in the morning?"

"Oh, my Alpha is wide awake now!!!" He turned to me opening his both arms widely, "Is that how you approach your bestfriend now?" He continued then with a sad face.

"What's for breakfast?" I ignore him, I open the ref to look for something to cook.

"Well, I prepared an egg and a chicken fillet for me. And for you, nothing. You're a grown man, you can do it on your own." He said trying to annoy me

"Okay, eat up and get out of here."

"Whoa, Whoa! easy! Is that the effect of sleeping with a mate??" He shouted

"Be quiet, you little!" I almost whispered. I am afraid that my mate could hear him and think that I am taking advantage of her.

My beloved mate is a coffee lover so I prepare a cup of brewed coffee, pancake and egg with maple syrup, fish fillet and salad. I put it in the table and I went upstairs to check on her.

"Be right back, dont touch our breakfast." I reminded Alexer before I leave the kitchen. He still sitting at the table eating a piece of pancake I prepared.

I open the door of my room and I saw my mate sitting at corner of the bed with her hands covering her face.

"Hey, umm. Morning." I said, smiling.

"Oh, morning. Im so sorry I didnt notice the time. Did you... um, how... I think I fell asleep there. Did I sleep walked?" She said pointing to the mini theatre

"Oh, I um actually transfered you to the bed--"

"Oh, sorry. Thanks. What time did you came back last night?" She said in an awkward face.

"Pass midnight?" I answered

"Um. Thanks. I got a good sleep. No bad dreams."

"You take a shower and put on the clothes I gave you last night. I prepared breakfast for us." I suggested her coz she's still wearing that gown from the wedding yesterday.

"Yeah, right. Im still wearing this dress." She chuckled holding the sleeve of her dress. She grab the clothes and towel I gave her and went to the bathroom.

My gazed followed her every movement. Dear Moon Goddess, she's so damn beautiful.

I am sitting on my bed when she got out from the bathroom, she look so hot in that white printed tops and short just an inch above her knee that exposes her long legs.

'She's so hot.' Marcus exclaimed. and I didnt answer him.

"Do you have a blower?" She asked.

"Yes" I said heading to my storage, get my blower and handed it to her.

"How about bailey, did she look for me?" She asked while blowing her hair.

"I informed her that you'll take your breakfast here and I also informed her that you'll be here till late afternoon."

"Why would I stay here?"

"There's a falls in the middle of the forest and we were unable to go there last time so I wanted to bring you there later."

"Oh, but I think I need to change from this outfit if go out."

"We'll pass by at Woods' house then." I said and she just nodded.

"I'm done." She said and put the blower down.

I walked to the door and both entered the elevator.

As soon as we arrived at the kitchen, she sat opposite to my direction and the conversation goes on....

"So, how do you learned to cook?" She asked

"Its part of my training."

"Training for?"

"Um, for survival I think." She almost caught me there.

"Oh really? My dad also trained me since 8."

"What kind of training?" I asked curiously.

"Hm. Survival skills, self defense such as Aikito and Taekwondo. At age 10, I enrolled in swimming and diving. At 15, dad joined me to kick boxing school. I dont know but he always told me that I should learn to protect myself since I am an only child and he's getting older."

"You're an amazing young lady. And you're dad really loved and cared for you a lot."

"I know." She said and sip her glass of coffee."Anyway, I need to make a call but my phone dont have a sim card. Is there any pay phone here?"

"We dont have that here but there's a gadget store and we can buy a sim card there."

"How far is that store from here?"

"Just a few minutes drive."

"Is there any cab here?"

"Nope. everyone here has their own car. Dont worry, I'll give you a ride to that store."

"Is that okay with you? I mean Am I not consuming too much of your time?"

"No no no! Its okay, really. Honestly, I like spending my time with you."I paused."Hey, I know we just met. You dont know anything about me and I dont know anything about you either but I like you, I wanna go on a date with you. I know you're confused right now but it's not just infatuation. This feeling is real. I wanna be part of your life, your future. I wanna spent the rest of my life with you." I confessed. She drinks a full glass of water.

"But why?" She asked with a confused face.

"We're soulmate." I admitted and Marcus is jumping in my head 'Right, tell her that we are perfectly made for each other by the moon goddess.'

"Should I hide from you as well?" She said almost talking to herself. Then my Beta ruined the moment.

"Alpha, I just want to remind you that we have a meeting after lunch." He said looking at my serious face."Oh Lady Ari, it's nice to finally meet you. My name is Alexer, his be-bestfriend." He said pulling a chair beside me and grabbing a piece of pancake. I mind link him, 'Can you please never ever call me Alpha infront of her? She might get confuse what alpha means.'

'It's okay, she'll know it someday.'

'yes, someday. not now!'

'Well, sorry.'He rolled his eyes. I noticed that ari is glancing at us.

"Hey, Alexer? how did you know my name?"

"You're new here. You're the talked of the town. And this man beside me cant stop talking about you." Alexer simply answered.

"That's crazy. I noticed that you look like having a conversation inside you head and you called him alpha. Do werewolves really exist?"She mumbled but we clearly heard it. Alexer, my wolf and I are completely in shock. How did she knows about us? She grew up in a human town how come she has an idea about werewolf.
