Chapter 16: Paying the debt

Luke lead me to a room beside the house. It's a huge room and it looks like a hotel from the outside but when he opened it I was surprised that it actually a small emergency room. It's a 10 bed capacity emergency room with complete equipments. Kim come out from the doctor's quarter wearing gloves.

"Hey, you're here. Oh my god. you have a lot of small wounds, did the monster bite you somewhere else?"

"No, I dont have a bite. Only scratches and my arm hurts. I think I sustain an injury here." I said holding my right arm. Luke still standing there with rage on his face.

"I'll take a look. Um, luke you can go outside. Dont worry it'll be find. I'll call when it's done." Kim said while examining me.

"I'll stay here." Luke answered and kim sighed. surely, she cant win against his brother even she is older than him.

"Thank goodness, you didn't sustain a serious injury and no broken bones. I'll give you a pain reliever and limit a movement to your arm." Kim said while handling me bottle of pills.

"Thanks. Can I go now, I need to dry myself." I said and she look at luke.

"Thanks, kimmy." Luke said grabbing me from the waist.

"Im fine luke. you dont have to babysit me. I've sustain more serious injury than this before but I am still alive till today. Thanks though." I said in a low voice that make him look like embarrassed

"I have no idea about your pass but I want you to know that I am here now. To protect you, to take good care of you. You dont have to be alone anymore." He said and I can feel the sincerity in his voice.

To be honest, I felt drawn to him, to his touches, to his eyes when he look at me and to his gentle voice specially when he called me princess. I stared at him for I dont know how long but I just realized it when he I feel his palm on my face.

"You need to change, I bought you some clothes." He said softly. I noticed that kim beside staring at us in amusement.

"Ah, yeah. I need to change." I mumbled and started walking outside. He followed behind me and I was startled when he grab and carried me in a bridal style without an effort, I weigh 160 pounds and this man carried me like I am just a tiny puppy.

"Goodness! Can you put me down!" I exclaimed

"Stay still. Dont move, Kimmy said to limit the movement of your arms." He said calmly. I stay still as he instructed. We we're inside the house and kiara see's us. But instead of scolding her son for doing this to me, she just laughed and said, "You two look so cute together."

Luke entered the elevator that brought us up to his room still carrying me in his arm. After opening his door, he put me down and went to his table, grab a paper bag and handed to me.

"Here's what you need. Take a shower, I'll wait for you outside." He said.

"Thanks." I answered without looking at him. I grab the paper bag from him and went directly inside the bathroom. I opened the paper bag, he bought me a plain white roundneck semi crop top that showed my small abs, a jeans and oh my god, undies? how did he know my size? whoa, I cant believe him.

I wore it after the shower and got out. I dried my hair using the blower I borrowed from him last time and I step outside the room and find Luke is standing at the window looking outside.

"Im done. Thanks for the outfit today. Can I have my shoes?" I said

He turned to me with a smile.

"Oh, It's inside the car." He said scratching his forehead."Lets have lunch first. You wanna spend the day here watching a movie or wanna go outside?" He said.

"I like outdoor activities than sitting on the couch." I answered.

"Great! We'll go out after lunch."

We entered the kitchen and the food is ready on the table with Kiara giggling upon seeing us.

"Oh, I haven't seen my boy like this before, right jackson?" She teased

"Mum!" Luke exclaimed as if he's embarrass with her statement.

"How are you, my dear? I promise to give a strong punishment to that rogue for hurting you" kiara turn to me. And I was like, what is she talking about? Rogue? rogue is a werewolf who dont have a pack as the book says. Did they really exist?

"Rogue? Is that a werewolf who dont have a pack?" I said that make them all look at me.

"How do you know about it?" Jackson asked.

"I read them in books. But never thought they actually exist. Can they turn to a human body?" I said and they still looking at me in disbelief."Am sorry, I was just curious." I continued.

"Right. Um, we dont know if they can turn into human. No idea." This time, luke answered.

"Oh. How do you guys know I was attacked anyway?" Yeah, everyone here knows about it even luke never spilled a word about it yet. How?

"Luke tells us." Kim answered.

"Oh. Okay." I said but I am not convinced. Are these people werewolves who own this pack? Or were luke followed me earlier? Is he a stalker? Suddenly, I get frightened by my own thought.

"Let's eat."Kiara invited.

"So, have you decided to stay here for good ari?" Jackson started the conversation.

"I dont know. I'll ask bailey her plans and If ever she'll gonna settle here I'll just ask her one more favor and that is to drive me back to Algona." I answered honestly.

"Is there something important you left in Algona? Or you just find Thunderwood not an interesting place for you to stay?" He continued.

"No, it's not like that. But, I dont have a source of income here. This city has a small population and I dont know where I can get a job. No establishment unlike in other city."

"You can work for me. I am looking for a new secretary in my office." Luke inserted in a conversation.

"Right. Have you work in the office before, it's a good experience for you." Kiara said.

"Mum, she wanted to become a nurse not an office staff." Kimmy joined in.

"I used to be a part time business associate before. But being secretary is not on my list. I just want to work in anything with a flexible time. Like, I can chose a day or night shift." I admitted. Well, I am hiding from anyone so I need a flexible schedule.

"Then I'll make you chose your own schedule. Plus, I give a good rate to my employees." Luke said and everybody laugh except me.

"Well, I'll think about that." I said. Yes, if ever he would compensate me properly then i'll work for him after all I had a good record in some office works and I only need money this time for my living and to sustain my studies in the future. Everyone is silent, then and one by one left the table putting their plate on the sink. Luke took a sip of water after his last bite.

"I'll do the dishes." I said

"No. Mum already called someone to do it. We're going somewhere." He answered, grab my plate and put in in the sink. I get up from the chair and headed over there.

"It's okay, let me do this. It's just a simple task." I said.

"Why are you so disobedient?" He asked, annoyed.

"Am I?" I am trying to annoy him more so the conversation goes on.

"You are not aware?"

"I dont know. I obey my parents and followed their rule."

"So you became like this since they're gone?"

"Maybe? Well, I dont know my enemy so I have to survive alone."

"Where did you get sedatives and tranquilizers?"

"How did you know I have them?"

"you forgot to zip your bag."

"Oh, s**t!" I exclaimed.

"It's okay. It's just me and I wont tell anyone if you tell me how did you get that."

"My parents always taught me to always fight back for myself. Even the enemy is powerful than that huge wolf, I should try to defend myself first. and If I loss the fight, I need to find away to survive. Mum taught me how to make sedatives and tranquilizers and how to used it properly. She always reminds me to bring atleast one wherever I go." I stopped."Can you hand me that towel." I said pointing to the towel to dry the dishes. Then I continued telling him a little bit about myself."The only enemy that I am preparing for now is the one that I never met yet. Gabriel Angelo's boss. My last encounter with gabriel is when I was 17, I am enjoying my vacation in Cuba when he saw me. He kidn*pped me and bring to a hotel near the beach, he called his boss telling him to prepare for a celebration coz he already had me in his hand. What he didn't know is dad prepared me for every situation. I won against him using my skills that he didn't know. I used the yacht he rented and escaped from him after turning him down. I dont know why they are so eager to catch me. I have no idea whose their boss but If I find him I'll do everything to make him pay for what he did to me. They killed my parents and they turned my life up side down." I said with rage.

"What happened to the investigation regarding your parents death?" He asked.

"Yeah, the police found nothing but a drunk driver. They said it was an accident. I never believed it. I saw it in my dreams for how many times that somebody will kill my parents because of me. If only dreams can be recorded I've already found justice. But I promise to find one someday and make them pay for that."

"They are interested in your ability. That ability to foresee the future through dreams." He said and he looks mad. I shrugged my shoulder and arrange the plate to the storage. He is standing at his back at the end of the table so I walked toward him then a young lady came in.

"Good day, Alpha!" The young lady greeted. Luke suddenly stand straight rubbing his neck and the young lady turned pale.

"You can leave now, everything is done by your, Arya." Luke talked to her in a comforting voice. I felt jealous seeing him talking to others girls.

"Hi. Nice to meet you Luna! I mean, I mean my name is Lyka!" The girl turned to me. and I walked toward her extending my right hand for a handshake with a smile.

"Call me Ari." I said.

"Thank you for doing the dishes, may I leave now?" She said looking at me so I bet she's talking to me since luke didn't say a word.

"Yeah." I said and she turned her back.

"She called you Alpha." I turned to luke.

"She did?"

"Yeah. Are you the Alpha here?"

"Um, maybe for those people who called me that. Now, what you wanna do first?"

"Is there any nearby city that we can visit?"

"We're not allowed to go beyond the territory today."

"And why is that?"

"You're injured. We might face some fight out there. but we can go north, the end of this territory. It's a nice view there." He said in awe. "Wait here, I'll just change my clothes."

I waited outside the house and saw girls playing around. They waved at me upon seeing me there so I waved back with a smile. Then I spotted A silver SUV stopped at the visitor's parking and saw Alexer with 2 companion got out from the car. They walked toward the mansion. These people are really good looking.

"Good day, Lady Arya!" Alexer greeted."These are my friend, Argon And Sam!" He introduces.

"Hi. Call me Ari." I said trying to extend my hand for a handshake when I heard a low growl. I look behind me and saw luke standing by my side. And the two man put their hands on their chest instead of reaching mine.

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Lady ari." They said.

"We're going for a road trip, we'll be back before dinner."

"Copy that, man!" Alexer said tapping luke's shoulder and went inside the house.

Luke turned to me and said, "Let's go."

I followed him to the Matte black jeep and I felt an excitement, this is my favorite kind of transportation. I jumped inside the passenger seat. Luke started the journey. A silent journey, sometimes I glances at his direction but he's focusing on the road then I looked out the window to enjoy the view and caught him looking at me when I turned to him. I played the stereo and started searching for a song.. I found rascal flats' bless the broken road and played it. The next song is Stephen Speaks' Passenger seat.

"I like the song, it describes how I feel right now." He said still looking at the road. I didn't answer and pretended to be asleep. After 2 hours, we reached our destination. He parked the car on a rocky edge, this place is surrounded by a rocky mountains. The wind is blowing calmly and the sun is hiding in the clouds.

He get a snack inside the jeep and handed me a drinks.

We were just standing there in silent, enjoying the view.
