Her Wrong Desires

The night went as planned for him, maybe? But he was sure he has enjoyed himself. From the looks of things, he is gradually moving toward, he is slowly achieving his goals.

And that was with the help of his boss and his only friend in the company,Antonia. They made sure everything worked out well, Especially his boss, their words was everything for him.

Claire was tipsy by the time they had reached home, she had asked him to let the kids be with their Nana while they enjoy the rest of the day but he has no time to enjoy the day.

The site was going to be put in action and tons of requests will start to come in. He has to show everything to the managing and order department, which he has started to show them how but still, it was tricky for some of them.

They don't know to respond to an order or how to let a customer knows that his/her order has been received. He tried to make it much easier for them, which he was able to at the end.

Just as his boss has said, he was going to receive a raise at the end of the event and he did. He was given an envelope by the chief accountant at the end of the party. He had been scared to open it, no he won't till the next day.

He needs to brace himself for what it holds in the envelope. As they reached home, he moved to the kitchen to heat up water and honey for Claire, his mother always makes something for his father when he gets back home drunk or tipsy.

Warm honey water helps a lot, to some people though. As the survey had said, it doesn't help some while it does to some percentage of people in the world.

He passed the cup of the warm water to Claire and muttered a thank you to him which he only nodded his head at her. He left her to the dining area where his new laptop that he was given at the office was situated on.

He dragged out a chair and sat down sighing. He was beyond tired, that he couldn't deny. His back aches and his head has been pounding like a nail was being rammed into it.

Taking an Ibuprofen from the first aid kits on the dining table, he swallowed with no water. He was used to that and it always makes his wife wonder how he does that.

He typed away on his laptop as the time ticked away. Soon it was midnight and the crickets chirped loudly while the place remained dark. Closing down his laptop, he head to the room to retire for the day. At least he had tried to amend all the mistakes before Monday morning.

All he wants to do now is to take a refreshing bath and take a long sleep with no disturbance. It will be possible since the kids are not around and he left a note for Claire to let them be with their Nana till in the evening as he needs that rest of mind for the rest of the day.

Just like the moving of a race car, the time elapsed and morning came earlier than expected. Gabriel didn't wake up early as he always do. He slept till it was after two in the day and when Claire woke him up to tell him that she is off to bring back the kids from their Nana.

Then he woke up and took a bath before he got clad in a simple t-shirt and jeans, then he picked up his office back and brought out the envelope the accountant has given him that night.

He muttered a silent prayer before he opened it. Mouth agape, he watched in awe. Bringing it out and counting it, he found out it was actually more than 3000$ in it.

That was his salary for more than a year in his hand. With that amount of money, he would be able to change the life of his family in no time.

Indeed he is thankful to the Lord, and he would forever be. He couldn't wait to tell Claire about it, he knew she would more happy than him.

Now he can get Dan not only a new game console but a new PS 4 of his choice and game pad. That is his birthday wish and he is finally going to fulfill that for him.

Jingling of keys were heard and he waited, Claire and the kids came into view. "I am back baby." She shouted but he could only continue grinning.

"You won't believe it Claire. The envelope that the accountant gave me yesterday." He stopped.

"What envelope? And what happened to it?" She questioned with concern laced in her voice.

"I was given a special raise for programming the site and everything about it. And the accountant gave it to me only for me to find 3000$ in it. I still can't believe." He explained.

Claire stood up silent. She couldn't find the words to reply to his revelation. "Are you kidding me Gabe?" She furred her brows with annoyance in her voice.

"I promise I am not. See." He passed her the envelope and when she checked, she came in view with a cheque of 3000$ and a voucher to any SxE outlets.

"Oh my God. I can't believe this." She exclaimed as she dropped a sleeping Jay on the couch. "Now you have to use it wisely Gabe. Wisely." She warned.

"Yes honey. We will make a list of the most important things we need and keep the rest. But for now, I will keep the Cheque in a safe place and I will check in with the bank tomorrow when I am on my way back home." He informed as he held the cheque in his hand.

In a night, the world changed for them and they would forever be happy.
