Just as Gabriel had promised, he later came to pick up Daniel, who was sleeping on the comforter. He had already eaten the food in her lunch box.
She made sure to thank Gabriel for letting Daniel stays with her while she was alone in the office. He had kept her company and she couldn't deny the fact that he made her happy by entertaining her.
She felt an bond between the two of them, he is a nice and respectful child not to forget how handsome he is. If she can't get his father to herself then she would make sure her daughter marry Dan.
It is a promise and that, she would execute. She would even make sure to write in her will, incase if something is to happen to her and she won't be able to see her daughter's wedding.
That is not what she is wishing for, she wishes to be live and witness more many years to come. It was already late in the afternoon and she had made arrangements to meet Sophia at Tyler's place and not forgetting to send a message to her father, that she would have diner at his place.
He might be happy but she doesn't give a hoot about what makes him happy. Actually, she would anything that will never make him happy. It is a promise and she will make sure she makes come to live except if he changes his ways and they ask for each other's forgiveness.
She existed her office and head towards the private elevator. She hooped in, her secretary had already retired for the day. She also stayed late because she missed some files while she was playing with Dan.
Driving through the busy late road of New York, she wondered what she should gift Tyler. As a surprise that would leave his mouth agape , after thinking for a while she got the perfect idea of what to get him.
It might be cheap or simple but it would do and would leave his mouth hanging. She headed to a bookstore first and then she drove to his penthouse.
She pressed the doorbell, waited for awhile before a maid came to attend to her. "I am here to see Mr Pages." She told the maid.
"Your name." She asked rudely.
"Rebecca Samuel." She scoff. "Come in. He is expecting since." The maid said and Rebecca quoted the girl is rude from the beginning.
She has no manners and also doesn't how to respect guests but she would definitely teach her a lesson one day or another.
She moved inside the house and the memories of the other night she had spent in the house. It was more irritating and annoying when she remembered how Tyler took advantage of that night.
Of course, she will not deny the fact that she enjoyed it but still he is a prick and deserves more than enough pain in his life.
She met Sophia sitting on the kitchen aisle while Tyler stood beside her. "Hey." She greeted as she dropped her bag on the kitchen stool then she held in her the gift she had gotten for him.
"Hi." Both Tyler and Sophia replied her back, with a smile on Sophia's face.
"I got this for you." She passed him the well packaged gift.
In it, was a diary book and a note book with a note attached to it. Then the note says 'Keep this for awhile. You will need it to write a new business plans when your company goes bankruptcy."
She watched as he grimaced after reading it, then Sophia collected it from him and read it aloud. She tried to hold in her laughter but she couldn't. She erupted in a fit of laughter which made him more angry.
"Are you surprised about I got to know?" She furred her brows as Sophia dipped her wine slowly.
"No, I will give Sophia the honor to tell you that." She added, then she picked a wine flute and poured for herself some wine as the drama unfolds.
Sophia cleared her voice then she took a sip of the wine again. "Well, let say birds of the same feathers flock together?" She asked.
He watched in awe. He was pretty angry and surprised to say anything or act as he was. "I am Becky's friend and I got to know everything about you and your company by pretending to like you." She revealed.
"Eww, I can't really believe I did that. To the fact that I almost slept with you." She spat.
"And Tyler, I have all the documents I need to expose you to the world but I won't do that now because I have a choice for you to choose. Take your pick and you get what you pick." She told him.
"You call the press and rectify all the lies you told them and then, I will buy the company from you but you will keep handling it or you go your way and I expose you to the world. Then imagine your lost." She laughed.
She lifted the wine flute to her mouth and emptied the content. Then she picked her bag and dragged Sophia with her. They stopped by the door when Becky turned to face him. "The choice is yours and you have now till after Assane's wedding. Oh, my bad I forgot to give you the invitation card." She mumbled the last part and her hand rummaged through her bag.
She threw the invitation card to him then they left hand in hand with Sophia. "I should have snapped his expressions. The way he made his face when you left him that offer was everything." Sophia laughed.
"I pray he heeds my offer because I don't want to be the bad person in this picture here." She explained.
"I get it Becky." "It will be fine, you were never the bad person in the picture the first place." Sophia comforted.
"Thank you, now let's go face my father." She informed.
"About that, you will have to go alone as I am not ready to meet that old cocky man and besides, I have to finish the final touches on your dress." Sophia informed.
"Sure. I will drop you off at the fashion house then?" She asked and Sophia nodded her head.
In the car, through out the ride, Sophia let filling in about how Tyler had tried to seduce her and how bad he failed then he also told her how he seduced Rebecca to his bed.The reasons why he did so and what not.
Rebecca could not help the fact of how surprised she was. She had never imagined that her father will stoop that low to do that to her but she knew one thing for sure, he never knows about the Page going bankrupt, otherwise he would never ask her to accept them in the company.
Maybe now she will put some sense into him and make him realize the mistake he was almost about to make. He need to rectify his mistakes too.
After she had dropped Sophia off, she made a U turn and drove to her father's mansion. It is almost late in the night but she doesn't mind as long as she gets what she want accomplished.
She parked and passed the key to her car to the extra chauffeur in her father's mansion. She headed inside, as the door was already opened when they heard her car horn. "Welcome young madam." The maid greeted, with a smile.
The maid happened to be her best in the house because of her smile. Yes, she loves people that smile more and gets her attention easily.
"Thank you. Is the witch around?" She asked of her step mom whom she never considered one. She considered her a gold digger.
"No young madam. She had traveled earlier in the morning as I was informed." The girl told her and she received a smile from Becky.
She headed inside and met her father at the dining table, getting ready to have his food served. She mumbled him a greeting before she took a seat opposite him.
She got served. "Oh, I missed the food in this house." She moaned which made her earn a glare from her father.
She ignored him and continued munching on her food. Soon they were done and the maids began to clear the table. "Let's head to the study." Her father offered and she followed him.
Together they entered the study and took a seat. "What brings you here, Rebecca?" He questioned, with lots of interest laced in his voice.
For more than a months, or more, she had not stepped her foot in the house which was not surprising to everyone living in the house. "I came to inform you about the Pages and to discuss about the promise you once made to me." She informed me.
"Then go on and start with the Pages, I want to know what you have about them." He said, waving his hands indicating her to start.
She sat down well and started informing him about everything she knows about the Pages and them going bankruptcy. She left him with his mouth hanging open.
"I will have a talk with them in the morning and...." She cut him off before he could complete what he was saying.
"I have already taken care of it. I want you to sit down and watch as the movie unfolds." She smiled.
"Okay, then go on." He urged.
She cleared her voice, before she dip her hands inside her bag and passed him the invitation card to Assane's wedding. "Oh, it is time already." He exclaimed.
"Yes and it is time for you to act on your words, your promise. You once promised to tell the world that he is your adopted son, I have been waiting for that day to come and this is the perfect opportunity to tell the world about that, following with the news of his wedding. Don't you think it will make a great heading?" She bobbed her head as she talked hoping he will do as she said.
Her father kept mute for a while as he thought about what she said. He sighed. He is only doing it because she requested it and because Assane is a nice guy as he had taken care of his daughter when he couldn't and he is still taking care of her while he runs away from his fatherly duties.
"It will reach the press tomorrow morning and inform Assane to make a public declaration of him changing his last name." He instructed. "I believe I have done all you want me to. Now, if you could excuse me, I have medication to take." He ended and he walked out.
She squealed. She would have never being able to achieve her goals if her step mother was to be in the house. She instructed the driver to drive her back home since it is already late and she hates driving in the night, maybe not all the time.
In the car, she sent a message to Assane informing him to meet her at home and she will be there in an hour or less. Finally, the car came to a halt. "We are here young madam." The driver turned and informed.
Sleep had gotten his way with her. She muttered a thank you to him and hurryed exited the car. She met Assane waiting for her in the living room, while he chat on his phone.
"Assane" she screamed at the peak of her voice. She ran to hug him and fell into his embrace. "I can't breathe." He struggled to say.
"Sorry. I just came back from father's mansion and guess what he asked me to tell you." She said.
"You know I sucks at the guessing game so tell me."
"Well, he told me to tell you to make a public declaration of you changing your name tomorrow morning, after the press has released the news of you being his adopted son." She informed jumping like a child gifted some candy.
"Really?that is nice but you don't have to go through all that for me." He said holding her in place.
"I did it because you are my brother mentally and physically. You deserve that." She encouraged him.
And he really did deserve that. Forever, he will be in her heart and she will be in his. The perfect definition of siblings, indeed.
