No Luna

Ethan's POV I find it hard to believe I was convinced to do this. Why am I so sure that this is a bad idea? “You look grumpy for a man who's getting married tomorrow," Storm comments. As if that's not a good enough reason for me to kill someone. My phone rings on and I reach to pick it up. I see Micah on the caller, and wonder why he decided to call me. “Yes..." I reply resting the phone on my ear. “Change of plans—” " What do you mean change of plans? I thought you were supposed to find more information about this stupid woman, “ I frown. Maybe I can find something good enough to put an end to this stupid wedding. Hopefully silence the Elders too. " I mean I can't continue with my mission. Something came up. Haven't you heard already? “ He responds. How would I hear anything when I'm stuck in this suffocating place. " What? What happened? “ I implore demanding answers. " Club Demacia was attacked, “ he says. His words are shocking. I didn't know rogues attacked clubs. That's where they go party. " Rogues —" “It's not rogues Ethan. All the werewolves in the club have been taken away, including our own," he cuts in to give me even worse news. Werewolves? Why would they kidnap werewolves? “Werewolves?" “Yes! Werewolves Ethan. They only took werewolves. Everyone else survived including the vampires that were in the club," he continues. Molten anger rolls through me as I clench my fist and jaws. “Who is responsible for all this?" I growl through my teeth fighting the rage that pulsed through my veins. “I'm afraid that's a question I can't answer at the moment. I'm sorry but I can't continue with your mission, I have to figure out what's going on. And where have they taken them," he says. “ Do what you have to do. Get back to me the moment you find something, “ I command ending the call before throwing the phone aside. I take a few moments trying to stay calm as I analyze the situation. I stood from my chair striding towards the door. " Where are you going? “ Storm interrupts. " Where else would I go? You've heard Micah. I have to find out who's responsible for this, “ I tell him. " What about the wedding? “ He questions. Does he really think I have time to play? " Don't tell me about some stupid wedding Storm. My pack needs me and this is not the time for that, “ I rage. " I'll just cancel the wedding. This is a good enough reason, isn't it?“ " It's a good enough reason for them to continue breathing down your neck. This is a good reason for them to lecture you about how a pack needs a Luna to be whole. She brings comfort to the pack blah blah blah, “ he replies. " But she's only going to distract us. Which is exactly what they want, “ I remind him irritated. " Would you rather deal with the girl or the Council? Because you already know they will also distract you. They know in times like this you should be at your best, and if they manage to get under your skin things can only go according to their plan. These people want us to fall in every way possible, “ he explains. " What about the girl? “ " You can distract the girl. Threaten her or something. Claudia can keep her busy, they can go shopping and do all the other things girls do. And we get busy with our own thing. The Council will be silent for at least a few months, “ Storm states. Maybe his got a point. But the idea of marriage doesn't sit me well. Why can't we just find another way? " Why don't I just destroy the whole Council? “ I genuinely ask. “Because you already know the rules. We can't just kill people without a good reason. Even though not everyone is part of the council, it wil cause conflict. And it will result into a war and we don't want that.“ “Stupid old man. They still win even when they are six feet under," I cursed. “Now you should be getting ready for the wedding," he instructs. I'm not happy that I can't help Micah. I'm the Alpha, and this is my job. I don't like the fact that these old people are calling all the shots. **** After a night of tossing back and forth in my bed, morning finally came, not in a good way. And I had to be at the place where they said the wedding should be taking place. This should be illegal. How do you marry a girl you've never met before. Since blind dating I've never heard of blind marriage. What kind of w***e did they managed to find this time. I'm sure it comes with every reason to anger me. I stood at the alter impatiently waiting for the bride. I didn't want to be here any longer. Every second fuels the fire burning inside of me. “What's taking them so long?" I mind link Micah. “Just be patient Ethan. It will be over very soon," he responds. “Very soon is a very long time Micah. I'm getting sick of this.“ I was getting extremely impatient. “Calm down. I know you're angry. But this is not the time," he warns. "I can't, “ I respond. " Count to hundred or something, “ he says. Feeling helpless,I just drop the link. " Storm? “ I search for him in my head. " What? “ There's a hint of annoyance in his voice. " Distract me, “ I tell him. " What do you want me to do? Dance for you? You're disturbing my sleep dude, “ he exclaims. " Why do you get to sleep? “ " Because you've kept me up all night. I need to rest," he complains. “The ceremony is about to begin," I reply when noticing little Tinkerbell throwing flowers on the aisle. These people have a lot of time in their hands. I don't have time for games. Soon it was announced that the bride is coming. A few moments later something else arrived other than the bride. I didn't think they invited rogues or is it an attack. My senses at peak as I try to understand what's happening. But everyone seems to be as amazed as me. Don't tell I'm going to have to fight rogues. But there's no commotion outside. No screaming, everything seems quiet. Are they kidnaping the bride? Because that might bring a smile on my face. A few moments the bride graces us with her presence. The heat of realization can only make me angrier. My body tenses, my fists shaking, as veins throbe fighting back the anger that was building inside me. Thoughts of violence visiting my mind as I set my eyes at the end of the aisle. Ohh no they didn't! A rogue? They are expecting me to marry a rogue!? “Micah let's get out of here," I order ready about to leave everything. “ Ethan calm down!" “Don't tell me to calm down! This is a joke! A disgrace! What will these people think of me when I marry this skunk!? Are we trying to tarnish my reputation!?" I spat, venom sipping out of my heart. My insides boiling with rage. Like a volcano ready to erupt any moment. “ But when you make her a member of your pack, she won't be a rogue anymore," he states. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard come out of his mouth. “Do you think people care about that!?" “Ethan we already talked about this!" Storm cuts in. “No Storm. Do you think this is alright? These people have gone to far," I exclaim. What I feel inside is beyond words. “It doesn't matter what people have to say. At least they respect you enough not say it on your face. Let's just get this over with. We still have problems to deal with when we get home, “ he says calmly. Does this not bother him? “Why are you making me do this? We shouldn't be doing this," I argue. “Just trust me Ethan. When have I ever led you off a cliff?" “I'm just afraid you might be wrong about this one," I tell him. “You always feel like that. Just trust me, “ he claims. I silently watch as their so called bride arrives at the altar. And I just wish when I wake up this is all just a bad dream. **** " At least she's gorgeous, “ Storm studies her features intently. Her hazel eyes were a dazzling brown sun warmed with inner gold as she looked with fear and empathy or maybe guilt. Her flawless, bronzed complexion paved a perfect foundation for the button nose and blush pink lips. “I'm sorry," she mutters as she slid the ring on my finger. Almost as if she's doubting her whole existence. I wonder what kind of influence they had on her because I can tell she's not invested in all this. “ I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." She leans in only to give me a pat on the cheek and pulls back. Almost glad that this has come to an end. The whole crowd bursts into cheers. But I was not there. I just wanted to be gone. I step down from the altar headed towards the door. Micah and the rest following behind. “Where are you going?" My father blocks my way. “Home William. Where else?" I push him aside continuing my journey. “But the ceremony has not yet reached the end? What about the speeches?" He questions trying to catch up with me. “It it's so important than you can continue. Leave me out of it. I have better things to deal with," I tell him. “Ethan this is not how you treat your guests," he says. Raw anger shoots inside me. In a second I turn around and reach out to choke him by his collar. " And this is not how you treat your son. You've already done enough damage. Now let me leave in peace before I burn this place to ashes, “ I seethe, rage nearly consuming me. Fear spreads in his as struggles to breathe. “Fine, I guess I'll see you at the Luna ceremony," he says breathless. I let reluctantly let him go and he straightens his suit before turning away. I continue my detection until I arrive where the cars were parked. I get inside impatiently waiting for Micah to arrive. “Took you long enough," I say as he opens the door. " I didn't really think you would go through with this, “ he responds. " Do you have anything that can lift my mood? “ I ignore his statement. " No. We still haven't found anything about the missing wolves. Camera wiped clean, left no traces behind and no one saw them. And even if the vampires did. You already know they are not going to tell us anything, “ he reports. I sigh as I lean back on my sit. " And this stupid Luna Ceremony is just a waste of my precious time, “ I groaned as I feel a flash of irritation. *** Soon we had arrived at the pack. And no one expected me to be coming back with a rogue in a white dress. “A rogue!?" Angela comes springing towards me the moment we enter the pack house." Are you insane!? “ Well she's one of the girls who take liberty in claiming to be my girlfriend. Trying to convince me she's more than fit for the position. But in honest truth, she's far from it. “ Stop asking me silly questions. Get her ready for the ceremony," I tell her. She frowns in distaste of my words. “Don't bother. I'm not interested in becoming your Luna. You can cancel the Luna ceremony," I hear a dulcet voice behind us. “What do you mean, you're not interested? " I turn around to meet her gaze. “Exactly that. We both know that's what they want. And marrying you doesn't automatically mean I have to bear the title," she responds. " Isn't this part of your plan? “ I question. "More like I'm part of their plan. You can go ahead and take care of your pack business. While I go and rethink my life, “ she says with dejection. “I didn't see that one coming. Well that means we can get back to business," Micah chimes in. “ Claudia show her to the guest room," I order one of the Omega Servants. I walk towards my future wife, “ I'll see you in a few days so we can deal about that... Smell," I say before signaling Micah to follow me. “ Maybe this is not as bad as we thought," Storm comments. “Don't get too comfortable Storm. This is not yet over."
