“Are you okay?" He asked me as I tried to look for a comfortable position to sleep in.
I had thought that the pain was like any other and it would go away and then my water broke.
“Oh goodness!" I cried as I tried to sit up.
“What's wrong?" He asked me as he got the side lamp and sat up. “Are you okay?" He asked me as he uncovered me.
“I think it's time," I said with gritted teeth.
"Oh, Lord! It hurts," I cried again.
“Hold on for a minute. Let me start filling the bath with warm water as I call Jose to bring in the midwives,”
