River was up and ready for school with time to spare. She still felt energetic, though not as much as the previous day. She was surprised to find Duke Calder waiting for her on the porch when they went outside to head to school. Yes, they were headed to school the day after fending off stupid vampires, they had to stay on time with their work and tests if they wanted to graduate on time. Sometimes living in a pack sucks, especially when you have to do the normal mundane things in between the crazy things that happen; like a one-day war.
“May I speak with you and your mate, River?” Duke Calder asked earnestly.
“Yeah, sure.” She answered and they stepped aside to be out of the way of other pack members that were using the doorway of the suddenly busy pack house.
