"Light Entertainment Not"

1217 Words
The message had been delivered and Alpha Gordon and Luna Renae were reading the note gleefully. The Alpha of the Crimson River Pack had agreed to dinner tonight and now all they had to do was talk him into a treaty, something they were certain would be easy to do. Sure the Alpha had a reputation as the 'Alpha Beast' but it was probably just something that was spread by rumours and gossip. Surely no Alpha could be that ferocious and downright evil. It was probably all just exaggeration. "We'll have to make sure that we do everything he's requested" Alpha Gordon muttered skimming the note and frowning slightly. "What the hell constitutes as decent alcohol" he asked perplexed as his wife just shrugged, not entirely sure herself. “Probably the expensive stuff” he muttered. "I'll just make sure we have a variety of everything for him to choose from" Luna Renae assured him before looking again at the note. "Light entertainment" she murmured "hmmm if that's included in the note then I am certain it's not just to do with music. What do you think Gordon?" Gordan sighed "he's got a reputation as a womaniser doesn’t, he?" She nodded not sure where he was going with it, her mind elsewhere and planning the dinner party in her mind, not wanting to miss anything. "Most likely then he means a woman to bed" Gordon concluded with a grimace "but who do we give to him? I'm not exactly wanting to have him paw any of my pack" he added doubtfully "maybe I should clarify what he meant first in case I'm wrong though. Don’t want to put an innocent girl in his sights if we don’t have to at any rate.” Luna Renae laughed, her voice filling their bedroom with laughter and mirth. "No he wouldn't have requested music, that's a given at a dinner party is it not? I think you are right and I know just who is perfect for him, without any of our pack being harmed in the process." It took him a minute to register who she was referring to, his face clearing as the pieces fit together. He shot his wife a pleased look. "Perfect, it's not like she's really a part of the pack anyway" he said calmly "besides if we get the treaty then as far as I'm concerned it's worth it. She'll just have to go along if she doesn't want to be kicked out of the pack now won't she. Besides I swear I’ve seen her eyes change colour once but you keep saying it’s a trick of the light. She’s not just human Renae I swear I wasn’t drinking that night when I saw it.” Luna Renae was thoughtful and ignored her husband’s exclamations about Riley, with luck she wouldn’t be their problem for too much longer. "We can't exactly have her dressed in those rags though, it's hardly attractive, is it? Definitely not appealing, we'll have to actually get her some clothes that are um a little more revealing" she coughed. “Something to entice an Alpha Beast.” "How are you going to make her look pretty? Riley's bigger than other wolves, it'd take a lot of preparation to get her even remotely attractive to him. What if he prefers the skinnier ones?" His wife's eyes glinted "she might be bigger but she does have curves and I'll admit her breasts are a great asset. I'll be able to dress her in clothes that show off her cleavage and emphasise her curves. Stilettos will make her legs appear longer and I'll buy clothes that he won't be able to take his eyes off of." Now Gordon was intrigued by her cryptic words. What on earth could she possibly buy that had put that look in her eyes? "What are you about to buy?" "You'll see" she said breezily, a wicked glint in her eyes and a small smile curved on her lips as she began to look around the bedroom and gather up some clothes to get dressed into as her husband looked disappointed, watching as she covered her naked body and resisting the urge to take her to bed again. If he had his way he'd have her all the time, but his responsibilities made that impossible sadly. Plus she got irritable with him when he suggested it. "You go take care of the security and ensure there is adequate privacy in the pack house for tonight, we don't want anyone coming in while we discuss the treaty and ahem" she coughed "send Riley in, if he sees another woman he might not go for her and then we might lose a real member of our pack." "Fine" Gordon said reluctantly, getting dressed himself rather sourly and hunting for his shoes, his wife pulling them out from under some clothes on the floor and rolling her eyes as she handed them to him. She placed her own shoes on, "Credit card please" she said incredibly sweetly and he half groaned as he pulled his wallet out. "You won't spend too much" he prompted "last time it took six men to bring in all the clothes and shoes you bought" he complained. Sometimes it was hard to be Luna thought Renae. Her husband just didn't get that she needed to maintain her image. As Luna she needed to look impeccable, elegant, like the leader she was. She couldn't just wear any old clothes and look like a part of the pack. She shuddered at the very thought as she snatched the platinum card from her husband's hand. "I didn't spend that much" Renae said hotly, indignant as he flushed and looked away. When Renae was defensive it was best not to argue, at least not if he wanted to be in the bed with her tonight. They'd snuck away this morning for some 'fun time' and he very much would like to do that again instead of dealing with an angry or upset wife. He'd hold his tongue he thought quickly. "I'm sorry" he apologised "you're right, it wasn't really that much" he lied. It had been a fortune in fact and if he hadn't been the Alpha of the pack with a small fortune at his disposal he might have cried. As it was he'd struggled to maintain control when he'd seen the bill. Sometimes he wondered if she even loved him or the money. Part of him didn't want to know the answer to that, fearful it was the latter. "You're forgiven" Renae told him as he exhaled in relief. She was in too good a mood to get angry at him right now and too busy organising things. After all she didn't have much time for what she was planning, Riley already in the kitchen preparing all the food. For a moment she felt a moment of pity for the girl before she swept it away. Without a wolf Riley was not a true member of the pack and it was best Renae not forget that. Instead she headed downstairs towards the garage, humming gently as she pictured Riley in the clothes she intended to buy and smiling in satisfaction at the image it brought to her mind.
