Back to Work...

'Did he really just say that he would make sure to marry me? He can't be serious, right?' I thought to myself. I had to take a seat on my couch.

'Are you alright? You look flushed, love,' my bff asked.

'Yes, I am. But did you hear him say that he would marry me? Right before he left? Or was I dreaming?' I asked.

'Hon, he said that. What do you plan on doing? He ripped up your resignation letter, right? So that means you still work for him?' she said.

I sighed. 'I guess that's right. What do you want to do tonight? It's the weekend. Let's go out to the club and have some fun,' I said.

She smiled and nodded. 'Yay! I am stealing something from your closet so we can leave from here, girlie!' she cheered.

I laughed at her and we headed to get ready to head out to the club. We dress in similar short, black dresses that reach slightly above the knee and high heels.

~30 minutes later~

We arrive at the club called 'Dynamite' a few blocks down the street from my house. We showed our IDs to the club bouncer and walked inside after getting them back. The club was packed with a lot of people. This was a new up and coming club as it had just opened a few weeks ago.

'Girl, something must be going on tonight! The place is packed! Who is famous tonight?!' my girl shouted over the music.

Someone heard her and shouted back, 'It is the creator and owner of the club. He finally decided to show his face here tonight and all the women have been trying to get his attention! He's over there!'

We looked over there and we saw the guy who left my house a few hours ago. My boss from my corporate job. He has a woman on his lap giving him a lap dance.

'This is the same guy who said he wanted to marry me? That's why I knew it was a lie,' I thought to myself.

Zynda pulls me by the hand and says, 'Let's go get a drink! And then dance and have some fun! It's a night for us and no guys!'

I laughed and followed her lead to the bar.

'What will it be, ladies? It's on the house,' the bartender asked. He was a tall and handsome guy and smelled nice. He smiled at me and I smiled back softly.

'Two martinis, sexy. I see you looking at my girl, do you want her number?' Zynda says, with a smile.

I gasped at her outburst.

I shyly looked away from his stare and his smile. 'I'd love to get her phone number if she is alright with that,' he said. His voice was deep too!

I looked over and saw Adrian glaring at me and I smirked back at him. 'Sure, why not? Let me put it into your phone,' I said, reaching out to get his phone.

He hands me his phone and I put my number in it. I call myself so I can have his number as well.

Adrian gets up and begins to head towards us and I poke Zynda in the arm. 'He's coming towards us. We need to leave now,' I whispered to her. 'Let's go to the restroom and wait until he leaves from here. Sounds good?' she whispered back.

I nodded. We tried to head to the bathroom before he got there, but I think he caught onto what we had been planning on doing and he rushed over to us and blocked our way. He grabbed hold of my hand gently and looked at my face.

'Why are you here?' he asked. I glared at him and said, 'I am here because I can be here. I know it's your club but it is not closed off to certain people.'

He chuckled and said, 'Well, how about I block you from coming here? Would that make it for certain people?'

I shrugged off his hand. 'Go back to your girls over there. I knew you were lying about what you had said back at my place. Men are not able to tell the truth due to their nature. It makes me sick,' I said, walking around him.

What he says next shocks me....

'Well then... I guess you will have to wait and see, wife,' he said while chuckling. He walks away and I head to the bathroom.

'What did he just call me? He must be drunk,' I thought to myself. I splashed water on my face and headed back out to find Zynda on the dance floor living it up. I chuckled and headed towards her until I felt a hand wrap around my waist and a damp cloth wrap around my nose. Everything goes black and my body goes limp.

What just happened to Ivy? Who did this to her?
