Chapter two

Isabella’s POV “Isabella! Wake up!! It's not over!!” I jerked up, breathing heavily as my eyes darted around, my body covered in dirt and vultures fleeing away from me immediately. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain against my chest and clutched it immediately. The last thing I remember was being stabbed to the heart. I hurriedly looked at my chest. There was a hole through my dress with blood spilt around it. But feeling my skin, I didn't feel any scar. My eyebrows furrowed deeply, my mind reeling from confusion. “What's going on?” I whispered softly, slowly forcing myself to my feet, shaking off the leaves that clinged to my dress. My heart burned from an uneasy surge of strength coursing through my bloodstream. I glared my hands, trying to understand the feeling within me. I could feel a new sense of energy, but I was unable to tell its source. My confusion grew into fear, and I paced through the woods, seeking someone who could give me answers. It was hard for me to understand the mystery behind my death and why I was awake all of a sudden. Recalling the words I heard before I woke up, I could tell that I was in quite a trance. Running through the woods, my heart throbbed in fear. My instincts grew tense, and the steady chants of “Run!” Wouldn't stop clouding my feeble mind. My feet fastened even harder, even though my breath grew faint and weakened with each stride. Suddenly, I was forced to a halt as my eyes fastened onto a hut in the middle of the woods. “Let's check it out,” my wolf growled. “Ohh, Bella. You're in there. I thought I was alone all this time,” I replied. Taking slow steps, I followed my instincts as u approached the hut. The scent of a human coursed through my nostrils, driving me into shock. I haven't seen my sense of smell this heightened. “What's happening to me?” I muttered, confusingly still approaching the hut carefully. I cleared my throat, braising myself as I lifted my hand to knock on the door. But suddenly, the door was pulled open, causing me to jolt in fear immediately. “Who are you?” I blurted, taking a defensive stance. “That's my line,” she retorted firmly, her face expressionless as she stared right into my eyes. Her stare drove shivers through my spine, and my limbs trembled in fear. “I…My name…” I stuttered. “Come in, Isabella,” she said, masking her beautiful face with a welcoming smile. I gasped in shock, frozen to the core as I heard my name. My eyebrows furrowed deeply as I locked my gaze onto her, glaring in utter confusion. “How? What are you?” I asked, my expression riddled with great confusion. “My name is Celine. But are you going to stand there and ask me questions or come in and allow me to give you the answers you seek?” She asked sternly, her face firm and expressionless. Swallowing hard, I reached a hard conclusion and walked in as she shut the door behind me. “Sit.” She gestured towards a wooden chair next to me. A few seconds later, she arrived with a cup filled with water. I hurriedly grabbed it from her, gulping its content hungrily through my throat. I exhaled heavily, wiping my mouth as I handed the cup back to her. “You sure must have come from far,” she said, slowly taking the cup and keeping it away. “Yes. I don't seem to understand what happened to me,” I replied. “You were reborn,” she revealed, glaring firmly into my eyes. I chuckled, bursting into sudden laughter. But noticing the stoic expression on her face, I stopped immediately. “What do you mean?” I inquired, eyebrows furrowed even more. “Your rebirth is tied to a prophecy that even I don't have any significant knowledge about. You're a werewolf, so I'm sure you have adequate knowledge of what happens after a rebirth,” she added. I was driven into deeper confusion as I glared at her, trying to understand every single word she just said. It was quite hard to make a meaning out of her words. But the signs around me pointed towards her conclusion. She stood up, heading towards the inner chamber. Then, a thought suddenly struck me, forcing me to snap out of quietness immediately. “But you're a witch,” she stopped immediately. “Witches were destroyed years ago. Why are you still alive? How is that possible?” My curiosity had the best of me. She ignored me, heading into her chamber immediately. With my feet crossed and my hands folded, I remained glued to the chair, pondering what she had told me. I glared at myself in a mirror before me, unable to fathom the truth behind her revelation. Suddenly, she returned, bearing a meal in her hand. “Here, eat and get some rest. The answers to your questions can't come at once,” she replied, rubbing my palm gently with a gentle smile on her face. I smiled softly, accepting the meal hungrily. I was offered a blanket and a soft bedding to rest for the night after she made sure to clean the blood stain on my body. The birds chirped softly, and the bright sunlight shined upon my eyes, forcing me to wake up with a quiet yawn. Folding my hands and sitting upright, I pondered desperately on how I could fetch more answers. Celine's explanation hadn't satisfied my quest for answers, and I desperately needed to know more about my new self. If what she told me was true. “What's the matter,” Celine asked, startling me with her sudden wake. “I need to leave,” I declared firmly. She smiled. “Where do you want to go?” “I need to find more answers about myself. I need to understand everything you told me last night,” I added, my voice echoing with desperacy. Celine kept her mouth shut, her eyes locked onto mine as she glared at me with a stoic expression on her face. “You can't leave this hut!” She declared firmly.
