Jordan's POV
The moment I stepped foot into the house, Corvin looked up from the couch like a part of him had been expecting me to return.
"Wow, look who we have here, you changed your mind?" He asked, arching his brows at me in curiosity. He paused to scoff. "Did you decide to come home and save the people who actually need you around or did Elara dump your silly ass already?"
I did not reply, I could not even if there was this urge to. Clenching my jaw tight, my legs hurriedly moved up the stairs, to my room while trying to suppress the anger and disappointment i was feeling.
Corvin was trailing me from behind.
"Okay, this is unlike you to not give me a response. Did something happen?" He asked, leaning on the doorway with his arms folded.
"What do you mean?" I snapped, barely sparing him a glance.
"Okay, i am trying to access this now. Earlier on at school, you stormed off like some noble hero." He paused to mimic me. "I need to find Elara." His tone was mocking.
"Now, you are back looking like you want to burn the whole world down."
Yanking my shirt off and tossing it to the side, I carelessly threw myself onto the bed.
"She was with him." I growled loudly as the memory of Elara and Adrian slowly replayed in my head.
Adrian that bastard!
"Him?" Corvin raised a brow. "Who is him? Gabriel?"
The last thing I wanted to do was say Adrian's name out loud, just the thought of it made me shudder, not to think of actually saying it out loud.
"Him of course. Who else could I possibly be talking about asides the bad guy?" I hoped Corvin would at least grab that as a hint but unfortunately he did not, instead he pressed further.
"There a lot of guys around her dude. You are going to need to be a lot more specific you know." Corvin said, rolling his eyes at me.
I could no longer hold back the anger. "Adrian of course! Dude, are you deliberately acting slow?"
I spat the name like it tasted bitter.
There was a pause from Corvin's side, a small frown slowly grew on his face as he clenched his fist tight. "Okay yeah, now I can see why you are so pissed." Corvin muttered, finally stepping into the room. "I am not a fan of Elara but maybe it is not what it looked like? I mean, why would she want to be with a monster like him?" Corvin added with a slight shrug.
A scoff escaped from my lips. "They were spying on Gabriel together. Together, Corvin. She lied, she said she was not going to go because I could not go with her. And the next thing I see? She is with him."
Corvin settled down on the empty space besides me, frowning. "Damn, that must have sucked really bad."
Sitting up, I began to rant. "Adrian? Really? Of all people? She could have picked anyone! She has friends and I am sure I would not have minded if she went with her annoying guy friend who is probably obsessed with her. I mean she just had to go with the one guy who wants me out of the picture."
"I get your hatred for Adrian, I mean I hate him too but are you jealous or just mad?"
I shot him a glare. "Both man!"
Corvin raised his hands in mock surrender. "Okay okay. I am just concerned, it sounds like you are more hurt than angry.
"I trusted her." My voice slowly began to drop. "Even when things got messy. Even when mum and everyone else told me to back off. I still stood by her side and now she is out there with him."
Corvin sat straight, his tone serious now. "What do you plan on doing about this?"
To be honest, what could I possibly do? The ball was in Elara's court, she had the right to her own decisions.
"Maybe we should just kill Adrian." Corvin suddenly said. I froze, my eyes shifted to Corvin's face, he looked dead serious, his eyes dark with something i could not comprehend.
"What did you just say?"
"You heard me right Jordan." He replied, unfazed. "He is a problem and he needs to be put in his place."
Gazing at my brother in disbelief, there had to be a deeper meaning attached to his sudden suggestion because there was no way in hell that this was because of Elara. "Since when do you care about Elara or who she hangs out with? As a matter of fact, I thought you hated her."
Corvin scoffed. "This is not about Elara at all and deep down inside of you, you know it. You know it is about him, I have wanted revenge for a long time Jordan. Remember what he did to me? With Adrian out of the picture, everything will return back to normal." Corvin's jaw tightened.
"Think about it Jordan. You do not get to fight over this territory anymore, it instantly becomes yours and bonus part is that you get the girl. Adrian is literally the only thing hindering you from your happiness Jordan."
The room instantly felt colder. What left me stunned was the fact that some part of me understood him.
Corvin leaned closer, his voice dropping to a low and dangerous whisper. "We need to come up with a plan. Something that can end him once and for all."
I could not respond, my mind raced with thoughts that I was not proud of. I found myself slowly stuck between reason and rage. Before I could utter a word, the sound of a knock on my bedroom door interrupted my conversation with Corvin.
The door creaked open wide and mum stepped inside, her face blank and unreadable.
"Jordan.." she started and my mind already began to imagine the worse, at least not until she said. "You have an important visitor."
