Elara's POV
Adrian's grip tightened on the steering wheel as we trailed Gabriel's car at an unnoticeable distance. The tension in the air rose as curiosity dwelled in both of us. Where was Gabriel headed to?
The further he drove, I began to notice some familiarity in the surroundings. My heart raced extremely fast as realization hit me. He was heading into the woods.
"Why is he driving towards the direction of the woods?" Adrian muttered, eyes still fixated on the road. "Got any idea?"
I gulped a lump down my throat, of course I knew his final destination. The moment the trees thickened and the sky got darker, I knew exactly where Gabriel was headed but I did not want to say it out loud. Maybe it was because i was afraid of jinxing it or maybe i was not entirely certain.
