Diana POV
He nods “You can say that, although a lot of my business associates see me, I just like to keep a low profile” he continues wrapping his arms around his chest in defense
Who would have thought? This is who would rescue me?
“An introduction would suffice from your side too” he raises a brow at me, the side of his lip pulling up to a smirk, like he knows I'm astonished
“Oh,” I say eyes wide pulling my hand forward “I’m Diana Patel,” I say but withdraw my hand when I remember Indigo and her aunty look of disgust when they saw me
He frowns, catching my hand in mine before I can fully withdraw, “Nice to meet you, do you want a ride? I can take you back home” he says turning to me, the car coming to a stop in front of the alley, a man walks out of the driver seat walking towards us in a crisp black suit.
“Sir,” he stands bowing his head slightly.
“Dave, he turns to him, “call Marcus and tell him to take these men to the hospital for care we don't want our new friend here to think we are animals,” he turns back to me, his eyes on me waiting for me to flinch at his words but stay.
“Let me drop you off I think j met you just at the right time” he sends me a small kind smile, grabbing my fingers in his large bruised one from the fight earlier and pulling me to his car.
Weirdly I feel safe, I mean this is not because he is the richest man in the city but the most secretive and private, nobody has ever seen his face, and the media, paparazzi, and social media can never get a glimpse of him, he is that private, he is also feared due to his wealth and riches.
The cool car and leather seats welcome me, I can't believe it, I'm sitting in Caspain Grey’s car, my sister will go crazy about this.
”Your address?” He turns to me when we pull into the car.
Nervously I rattle the address to the driver and the car ride submerged into silence
“So what were you doing at this side of town? You obviously don’t live here” he says
I immediately feel put off, dressed in rags “It’s that obvious?” I call out a frown filling my features
He coughs nervously turning to me, “I didn't mean it in that way, Diana, I don’t look down on people” he turns back to the window, his brows turned downwards, “I’m sorry if that came across as that” he turns back to me, his features reassuring.
I nod, “My adopted mother is sick and I came to beg my biological parents for money for her illness but turns out they died yesterday and the other woman I was switched with at birth kicked me out of the house, I was walking back home when I was attacked” I explain in one breath, my eyes pricking with tears as the story continues
“Oh, I’m sorry about that, but I see an opportunity here, we could help each other” he turns fully to me, the car coming to a stop in front of our rickety building, it looks like it's about to fall anytime soon.
“That can't be safe” he whispers next to me looking up at the building
“What do you mean help each other out? What could you possibly need? You are the richest man in the city” I say my voice cracked with tears and confusion, what could he possibly get from me that he can't get elsewhere?
Wait, is it what I think it is? “I'm not going to be your s*x slave” I spit out, my finger pointing at him with anger, how dare he bring that sought of proposal to me, all because I'm poor and in need of help.
He laughs, his cheeks rising, even the driver chuckles in front of the car, my eyes meeting with his in the mirror
“I don't want you to be my s*x slave Diana” he frowns, “Far from it, I want you to do the most important job for me, a job not for everyone and it could be for you depending on how you respond to this
“What do you want? I frown my fingers rubbing my jeans nervously, sweat dripping from my brow despite the car being cold.
“Diana I want you to marry me, I want you to be my wife, I want you to be Mrs Grey” he whispers the offer like a sweet lullaby leaving me in absolute shock
