Chapter 2Everything burned. The leather around his wrists, around his ankles. His eyes from the blindfold he never got to take off. His shoulder blades where needles pricked constantly at his skin. There was no relief. No cessation. Only when he passed out from the pain did Brendan escape the fire. Part of him didn’t want to wake up. He couldn’t endure more of the damn buzzing. He’d tried to get his captor to speak to him in the beginning, but nothing worked. Then he knew he had to reserve his strength, so communicating took a backseat.
