The Queen's Wrath

The freezing wind whipped my dark hair wildly around my face as I stood on the massive stone battlements. Far below, the Blood Moon warriors looked tiny and insignificant against the towering walls of the Northern Fortress. But Kael didn't look intimidated. He looked furious. He paced through the deep snow, desperately trying to project his Alpha aura. It was almost laughable. Against the ancient, thrumming power of the Lycan stronghold, his energy felt like a dying candle caught in a hurricane. “Lord Orion!” Kael's voice echoed across the frozen valley, dripping with arrogance. “We know she is hiding in there! You are harboring a fugitive of the Blood Moon Pack! By ancient werewolf law, I demand the immediate return of my runaway Omega, Elara!” A low growl rolled through the heavily armed Lycan archers beside me. They were offended that a weak southern Alpha dared speak to their King with such disrespect. Orion stood beside me, his massive hands resting casually against the stone edge. He didn't shout. He didn't even look angry. He looked bored. Dangerously bored. “Open the gates,” Orion commanded quietly. His order was instantly relayed. The massive iron gears groaned as the fortress gates slowly swung open, revealing the elite Vanguard Battalion waiting behind them. Kael's lips curled into a triumphant smirk. He glanced toward Selene. “You see?” he called to his warriors. “Even the Lycan King respects ancient law. They are handing the pathetic mutt over without a fight.” My fingers tightened around Orion's hand. “Let's go,” he murmured. We descended the stone stairs together. The moment we stepped into the courtyard, the Lycan warriors parted, creating a wide path before us. One after another, they dropped to one knee in absolute reverence. My heart hammered against my ribs. But my White Wolf pushed forward. Her presence flooded my veins with an icy, terrifying calm. I wasn't the broken servant anymore. I wasn't the frightened Omega who had been thrown into the Dark Woods. I was something else now. Something powerful. We passed through the open gates and stopped twenty yards from the Blood Moon frontline. Kael's triumphant expression disappeared. His golden eyes locked onto me. For several long seconds, he simply stared. He couldn't understand what he was seeing. I wasn't wearing filthy, oversized rags. I was dressed in tailored black leather, covered by a magnificent fur cloak that swept behind me like a royal mantle. I wasn't looking at the ground. My chin was lifted. My shoulders were straight. And my hand was intertwined with the most terrifying predator on the continent. “Elara?” Kael's voice cracked with disbelief. Selene pushed forward. Her eyes widened when she saw me. “What is this?” she shrieked. “Why is she wearing that? Grab her, Kael! She stole those clothes!” Kael shook his head, desperately trying to recover his composure. Then he puffed out his chest. “Elara! Get over here right now!” His Alpha command struck the air. “You have humiliated this pack enough. You're coming home to face your punishment!” I didn't flinch. I didn't even blink. His command, which had once forced me to my knees in agonizing pain, now felt like a gentle breeze against a mountain. “I am not going anywhere with you, Kael.” My voice was calm. But beneath my words, the strange, ethereal dual-tone of my White Wolf echoed across the battlefield. Kael took a startled step backward. “What... what did you do to her?” His gaze snapped toward Orion. “She is a wolf-less Omega! She belongs to me!” Orion's silver eyes flashed. “She belongs to no one but herself.” His voice was deep and lethal. “And you, boy, are standing on my territory while disrespecting my Queen.” “Queen?!” Selene shrieked. “She is a reject! A servant! Tell them, Kael!” Her voice trembled with rage. Kael's face twisted. He looked back at me, desperation replacing arrogance. “Elara, stop this childish game. You are my mate.” The words hit something deep inside me. “You are my mate,” he repeated. “I command you to submit to your Alpha!” That was the breaking point. The sheer audacity of him. He had publicly rejected me only days ago. He had shattered our bond. He had thrown me into the Dark Woods to die. And now he stood before me, pretending he still had a claim over my soul. My White Wolf roared inside my mind. This time, I didn't hold her back. I let the ancient power off its leash. I stepped forward and released Orion's hand. A blinding wave of pure white energy exploded from my body. The shockwave tore through the snow, sending a violent ripple across the frozen battlefield. The temperature dropped. The air became heavy. Every breath seemed to disappear beneath the crushing presence of an ancient Royal White Wolf. My eyes flashed brilliant white. “Submit?!” My voice thundered across the valley. The ice beneath Kael's boots cracked. The entire Blood Moon frontline collapsed. Dozens of warriors crashed onto their hands and knees, their wolves instinctively surrendering before my overwhelming power. Some whimpered. Others trembled uncontrollably. Selene screamed as the pressure crushed her to her knees, forcing her face into the freezing snow. Kael fought harder. His entire body shook. His face reddened as he desperately tried to resist my aura. He was an Alpha. But against me, he was nothing. With a sickening crack, his knees slammed into the frozen ground. He gasped for air, completely helpless. For the first time, the mighty Alpha Kael was looking up at someone. And that someone was me. I walked toward him slowly. “You rejected me, Kael.” My voice was cold. “You threw me into the woods to be slaughtered because you thought I was broken.” I took another step. “Because you thought I was weak.” Kael's golden eyes widened. He tried to speak, but my aura kept him pinned to the ground. I stopped directly in front of him. The man who had once made me kneel was now kneeling before me. The man who had called me worthless couldn't even meet my eyes. I leaned closer. “Look at me now, Alpha.” My glowing eyes burned into his. “I am not your Omega.” I paused. “I am not your property.” My White Wolf growled beneath my words. “I am not the weak girl you threw away.” I straightened, looking down at him. “I am the nightmare you created.” Kael's face went pale. “And I will never be yours.”
