THE BIRTHDAY PARTY It was the afternoon of the 27th of December 1994 in the house of the Ndubuisis. Mary Ferguson Ndubuisi was celebrating her eleventh year birthday. Many of her class mates from Greensprings School were with her in the courtyard of the house in Victoria Island. The magnificent birthday cake was still on display, yet to be cut. Already, the happy kids were all twisting their bodies to the music coming from the two loud speakers mounted outside.
