The little princess was trembling. I wasn’t surprised. She was probably the least thrilled about this arrangement, yet my father always got what he wanted.
“B-But… Ashes was supposed to marry Halia!” she stammered, trying to make sense of it all.
“I’m to marry her as well,” I informed her.
She turned to me, but she didn’t appear as shocked as I had expected. Had she overheard that too? Then focused on my father, clearly hoping he would clarify things.
“I planned for Ashes to marry both of you,” he said.
“Both of us?”
“Yes.”

“But your people still consider you their princess.”
