CHAPTER SIX “Time with cats is never wasted.” COLETTE Angie remained silent on the ride back to Manhattan. She’d stopped taking photos after she’d boarded the train but sat near the window looking away from Sam. “I’m sorry,” Sam finally said before they’d reached Penn Station. Angie turned to face her with wet eyes. “It’s not your fault, Sam. It’s just that whenever I’m reminded of my family, I keep remembering the night I lost them all.” Sam reached out and touched her friend’s arm. “It’s okay, Angie. You have Mark now. You can start your own family.” Angie laughed, but there was a break in her voice. “Can you imagine all the baby pictures we’ll have?” “If all the shots you’ve taken of my cat are any indication, you’d better hope you get plenty of photo albums for wedding presents
