Deck that Halls

The next falling day, I woken up to women yelling. I got a little freaked out, alerted more likely, so I ran out of my room just in boxers. I mean everyone seen me naked so I really don't care but as my grandmother and aunt in law here it kinda was a problem. It was more respect for those two. "What the hell is going on? Why the f*****g yelling?" I growled, not meaning to. "Sorry babe, your staff is a little slow and is f*****g s**t up." My grandmother had said. "Look, maybe the reason they are going slow because its like 6 in the f*****g morning!" I growled. "If you want them to work for you how you want them, give them a moment to wake the f**k up. God, how did my mother deal with you. No how does grandpa deal with you." "Your mother, goddess rest her soul, was hard to deal with herself. As for your grandfather, I don't know. I know I am hard, I was raised that way. Plus the older you get, the more stubborn and hard you get. Its the old age honey. You'll get there." "Whatever." I said then went into the kitchen. "Please tell me there's coffee." I said to one of the kitchen staff. "Yes, sir. I made a few pots this morning. Since your grandmother had everyone up and early." "God, she's gonna kill me by end up this month." "Your mother had everything up and going by herself before your grandmother had showed up." "She did? Well next time, I'll have to beat that." I said then took a sip of my coffee. As I was drinking my coffee, I saw the twins sneaking down the stairs to go out the front door. Before they could even blink, I had rushed over in front of them, with my coffee still in my hands. When they saw me, they jumped. "Thought I didn't see y'all huh?" I asked. "No, father. We just want to get our stuff done before we have to do other shit." "Ah, well its a sunday and you don't have s**t. So nice try. Go help your great grandmother, now! You are stuck like glue to her hip the whole day today. Whatever she asks f*****g do it. Do I make myself clear." I growled. "Yes, sir." They whined together then headed towards where my grandmother was at. "Suck it up, that is your punishment for trying to sneak out." I called out. "Grandma, the twins are your slaves for today. Work them to death." I hollered out. "Oh, god thank you!" I heard her yell back. I laughed when I heard her giving the twins instructions, details, on how she wanted everything. As I walked back into the kitchen, Phil and Bailey walk in from the back door. They both came to me and kissed me on the cheek at the same time. "Good morning honey." Bailey said, smiling. "Yeah, it was a good morning when was asleep." "Your grandma and Zo barking up orders like its their pack?" Phil said. "God, yes. I was sleeping so good too. Until I heard them yelling. Then noticed y'all wasn't in the bedroom." "Sorry, I had patrol to do this morning." Phil said then grabbed a cup of coffee. "And I had to rush to the hospital. They needed help this morning. A few warriors got attacked by a bear this morning." "A bear? A real bear or a werebear?" I asked. A real bear. It didn't change back when they killed it." "Where's the bear's body at?" "In the artillery pen. Kai is going to butcher it up." "In there?" "No, that's where they found it." "Shut up, wow that's crazy." "Yeah it is. We don't even know how it got on our land and no one saw him." "Oh well its already done and over it." I said as I was getting another cup of coffee. "Oh, the twins are helping my grandmother. That's their punishment for trying to sneak out of the house this morning." "Really?" Bailey shook her head. "Those two I swear." "You know who they sound like you me?" Phil asked. I thought about it for years just never said anything about it. But they sound like my twin uncle's; Max and Jax. "Max and Jax?" I said. "Goddess yes. I think letting them go over there when they were young was a mistake." Phil said chuckling. "They corrupted our children." "Now that's messed up." I said. "But so funny." We all laughed at what Phil had said. It was crazy messed up but it was so true and it was crazy funny. God when I met the twins for the 1st time they were hard ball, they were on point. Never a wrong step. But behind close doors, god it was game over. They were goofballs, foolishness animals. Grandma had told me stories when she was younger the crap they pulled with their father. The mess they put themselves in but they always found away around it all. I remember the time I visited that they tried to pull a prank on me and well that went wrong. Uncle Parker had warned me what they were up to and he told them to not to do it because how I was with my PTSD. I had shifted on them with full on flame almost killing them. It took them forever to heal. Their twin mates was crying for days until there were healed. I remember right Joey and Zobrina was gone that week. They went to her homeland to see her family. So they never got to see the full me til yesterday. "Deck the Halls with bells and Holly fa la la la la." Someone was singing. "Oh god no!" I said out loud, covering my ears. "Its not even Christmas yet." "Oh get over it nephew." Damon had said coming in from the other room. "Your grandmother is doing a very great job in the front room and hall way." He had said. "I got the twins helping her." I said. "Oh no, what did my angels do." "Angels, they tried to sneak out of the house this morning. I caught them. So that is their punishment." I told him. "Wait angels," Bailey said. "Those two ain't angels, especially together." "How rude of you saying that about your children." Damon said smiling. "God, those are our children. How did they get like that." Phil asked laughing. "By letting them hang out with idiots when they were younger." I said laughing. As well were all laughing about our children, we were a crash then a scream. I dropped my cup of coffee and ran to where the crash was. When I got in there, the marble angel that was my mothers had fallen and landed on Mary Jane. "Mary!" I had said rushing over to her. "Daddy!" She called out. Even though Mary Jane was Phil's daughter she still called me daddy. The same went with Oliver. He was mine and called Phil dad. "What the hell happened?" I asked. It took both me and Phil to pick it up and get it off of her. "I was cleaning around it to put what grandma asked me to do and I guess when I turned around the garnish that was around me wrapped around it and I pulled it. I'm sorry daddy, I didn't mean to knock it over." Mary said starting to cry. "It's okay, baby." I said holding her. "Oliver!" I yelled out. A few seconds later here came my son running from the other end of the house. When he saw that I was holding his baby sister, he lost it. I could see his eyes changing colors then rushed over to us. "What happened?" He asked holding his sisters head. "She was cleaning around it and it fell on her." Phil had answered him. "I told you to wait for me to do this room." Oliver told his sister. "I know, but I wanted to do a room by myself. You got to do the dining room by your self. Grandma did the hall way." "But your little." "So are you." "But I'm taller and stronger." "Hey, hey, enough of that. You both are strong your own way. It could've happened to you." I had said. "Your sister is fine. It just scared her." "I'm sorry." Mary said crying. "No, no, sissy don't cry. I'm sorry. I may be a few minutes older than you but your still my baby sister." He had said then hugged her. I smiled at that. Always the protective big brother. As I watched them, my grandmother came into the room. When she saw that Mary was laying on the floor she was about to speak. "Get off," "Grandma, Mary had a little accident. But she's fine. How about we stop for a few hours and have lunch in an hour." I told her. "That's fine with me." She said then looked at Mary. "What happened?" "My sister tried to be a big girl and clean around grandma and it fell on her." "The marble is fine right?" She asked. "Yes, my mother is fine. Not even a scratch." I told her. "Mary was just trying to help you and impress you that was all. So let's go get cleaned up and be back in the dinning room for lunch." I told everyone. Once I stood up, I picked up Mary like she was still my little girl, even though she's 10 years old. I carried her upstairs to her room and helped her get cleaned all up. Phil stayed in the room with me while Bailey and Oliver went to his room. He was a momma's boy and Mary was a daddy's girl. Both Phil and I spoiled her like crazy. I was happy when the moon goddess said she gave me a very special gift and that moment when Bailey threw up on our wedding day made me the very special man alive. The day she gave birth and found out we were having twins, I told myself I do not care which kid was mine, they would be mine general. But once they started getting older we could tell which one looked like. Mary had Phil's eyes and his smile. And Oliver had my cheek bones, my smile, and my eyes. But they both have my powers. We found that out when they were 5 years old. That day will never leave my mind. They were fighting over a toy and Oliver looked at the toy and caught it on fire. Mary screamed and caught her own brother on fire but it didn't hurt him. When Bailey, Phil, and I walked into their room, I froze for a moment seeing what was going on. Then I ran over to them and touched both of them taking away the flames that was on them. Since Mary was holding the toy her hand was on fire. But Oliver had it worse than her. After it was all over with, I laughed so hard that Phil and Bailey glared at me. They scolded me for a moment for laughing at what our children did. Then started laughing at how they scolded me for laughing. That day will never leave my mind. Those two kids are my world, my life and I will love them more than anything in this world. I will love them more than my own life. Just hope, they don't have to go through like I did growing up. But I will always be there for them no matter what.
