Chapter 4

{Alec} My brothers were the first to move. They filed out of the stands to check on Ashlyn, me in tow with them reluctantly. Vicky's gaze burned my back with accusation. She didn't like it one bit that we were leaving as soon as possible. Great. Because of my brothers, I'll have a huffy fox on my back. Though I wouldn't mind having her long slim legs wrapped around my waist tightly. The Alpha in me growled possessively in agreement while my shy side merely blushed and looked down. I heard Asher growl aloud next to me. "Better get those dirty thoughts out of your mind, little brother, we already have an omega." Asher loved Ashlyn more than me and Ace love her combined. But I knew that Victoria was throwing his mind in a frenzy but he was just too angry to admit it. Angry at Victoria for coming to this college and having him question his undeniable love for Ashlyn. He especially loved how all our names fit perfectly; Asher, Ace, Alec, Ashlyn. I mumbled, "You can't fight biology." He glared at me, I stared at him with equal menace. He tried to deny any growing feelings he had from the moment his eyes landed on Vicky. "Watch me," he spat defiantly. I sighed, "She likes to be called Vicky." I could sense Ace stiffen beside me. Hearing her name had a nerve-racking effect on his wolf. Asher narrowed his eyes at me but turned away before I could feel any hidden feelings. When we entered the gym, Ace stopped us. "What should we do about Ashlyn and Victoria?" Asher crossed his arms. "We do nothing. Ashlyn is our omega and we have already imprinted on her." "That's not what I mean." "Then what do you mean?" Asher raised a challenging eyebrow. "Should Ashlyn know about our...mate....and should our mate find out about Ashlyn?" Ace's expression clouded over. "Yes-" I tried to cut in immediately but Asher beat me to it. "NO!" We both raised our eyebrows in question at Asher and he rubbed his temple. "At least not directly. We can make it clear from afar. Hanging out with Ashlyn and showing her more affection will send out a clear message." "What if I don't want to send out a clear message?" I uttered softly. Ace looked at me with sympathetic eyes. "Either we'll ALL end hurt in the end. Ashlyn, us, Victoria....Ace let out a noise and it was clear that his Alpha was struggling to compose himself when the thought of hurting his mate crossed his mind. "I love Ashlyn more than Victoria." Asher struggled to make out the words. "Ashlyn has been here, with us longer than Victoria. She has been our anchor, our reason to live. We can't do that to her." "But you can do that with me?" We froze, paralyzed in fear when Vicky's sharp voice cut through us. We turned around and much to my dismay was Victoria standing there. Anger radiating from her aura. "Vicky I-" I pleaded with her but she directed her menacing stare towards me I stopped short.  "Don't call me that. Only my friends call me that." She folded her arms and examined all of us with her Alpha stare. It made us squirm a bit, only because she's a more powerful creature than us. Asher snorted, "Not like you have any real friends when you're new here." She bit her lip instinctively, causing my eyes to land on her mouth. "My eyes are up here." Victoria's cold voice rang and I saw all of us snap our heads up. "And what a childish response for an Alpha." Asher clenched his jaw. He wasn't used to being disrespected like that but it amused him. "How talkative for someone lower than an Alpha." I glared at him; he didn't know that she was a hybrid and an Alphas daughter. Alphas don't react to well when someone questions their rank. "Is that a way to talk to an Alphas daughter, Asher." His knees trembled a bit when she said his name but Victoria hadn't noticed. What she had noticed was his priceless reaction. "You're the Alphas Daughter?" He breathed, controlling his wolf. We had only caught a glimpse of her in Fifth grade and since then we had a childhood crush on her, though Asher never admitted it. She rolled her eyes. "I knew that Alpha's like you three would give up on finding their mate and mark an omega." She directed her eyes behind us. "After all, it has been known for omegas like her to steal she-wolves mate's." Suddenly, Ashlyn's small hands wrapped around my arm possessively. "Alec, what is she talking about?" Victoria laughed lightly. It annoyed Ashlyn because she tilted her head to the side, scrutinizing Victoria. She had worked so hard to earn everybody's respect. "Oh, sweetie, haven't they told you?" "Tell me what?" Ashlyn squeaked. She hated being treated like a child. "I'm their mate." Victoria grinned but a man tapped on her shoulder. All three of us tensed when another male made contact with our mate. Victoria smirk but Ashlyn grimaced. "Yes?" The man leaned close to her ear. Ace let out a possessive growl but Victoria was focussing on what the man was whispering to her. Her face brightened instantly and the man departed. Victoria snapped her fingers and in an instant, her clothes were changed. This time I let out a guttural sound at the thought of her changing in front of me. A smile tugged on her lips and I looked down blushing. She turned on her heel and called out, "From now on, I cut my ties with the Alpha triplets." She stopped at the exit. "Which means I'm free to be mated with anybody" She sprinted off and Asher took off after her. His heart pounding. I followed suit with Ace and Ashlyn scrambled to follow us. We ran and ran, cursing her fox speed. We had found her in the soccer field. Ace bumped against Asher's hardback and I crashed into Ace's back. Ashlyn slammed into me with a loud thud, but I wasn't paying attention to her.  Victoria and another younger girl with a striking resemblance to her ran up to each other. I watched as Victoria let the younger girl topple over her as they fell against the grass in a laughing fit. My mate was happy, truly happy.
