JoJo turned his head sideways as the limo crested a hill and approached a barn.
"You"ve got to be kidding me," he said. "Vince, turn around. There’s no way this—”
"Trust me," Dominica said. "Lord Traxus wouldn’t lie. I"m doing what you told me." She grabbed his hand and looked into his eyes pleadingly.
Simone laughed derisively. She was a shadow puffing smoke against the window. "What"s the worst that could happen? We’ll encounter some pigs in a barn, and then you can see what a fraud that Lord Traxus is."
She made a circling motion with her wrist. "Vince, turn this limo around and I"ll kill you myself."
She turned to JoJo. "Do you or don"t you believe her?"
JoJo pursed his lips at Simone. "I told you what I believed."
Simone puffed again and said nothing, looking out the window.
