LIAM'S POV
"That peasant, attempting to humiliate me! Such audacity," Prince Liam muttered, ranting until I reached the carriage.
"Where is he?" he inquired.
"Your highness, he is in the carriage," Gregory replied.
"Nobody disturbs me until we arrive at the palace," he warned sternly.
"In front of that fool, he just had to disgrace me," he continued, talking to himself.
The prince's face was flushed with anger and embarrassment. How dare that lowly servant make a mockery of him in front of the entire town! It was an unforgivable offense.
As the carriage rolled on, the prince's mind raced with thoughts of revenge. He would make sure that insolent boy learned his lesson. No one humiliates a prince of Durrani and gets away with it.
"I'll teach him a thing or two about respect and proper behavior," he muttered under my breath, clenching my fists in determination.
The journey to the palace seemed to drag on, but the prince's resolve only grew stronger. He would not rest until he had restored his honor and taught that peasant a harsh lesson.
THEO POV.
I only realized the gravity of my actions upon reaching the carriage. Being escorted by the guards, I caught sight of Sir Gerald and the others, their expressions betraying their displeasure as my actions had nearly caused them trouble.
At least, I thought to myself, I would no longer have to contend with their disapproval or their harassment.
Contemplating what Prince Caspian had mentioned, I wondered how he recognized me. Had they already informed him of my assigned task?
Before I could dwell further on these thoughts, the carriage lurched into motion, interrupting my train of thought.
"You have no idea what you've gotten yourself into, young man," the attendant who had addressed me earlier spoke up.
In a hushed tone, he added, "After tonight, you'll regret ever experiencing what lies ahead."
His ominous words sent a shiver down my spine, filling me with fear and uncertainty about the perilous path I had unwittingly embarked upon.
