The ceiling was reeling. The effort to open his eyes and get up properly seemed like an arduous task. Thank God it’s Sunday, he thought, or more like thank God I don’t have to go to work today. He sat on his bed for a few minute, then slowly dragged himself into the bathroom, turned on the tap, and rinsed his face with cold water. He hated to look into that lopsided oval mirror on the wall. But he looked anyway. Gosh, I look like a piece of crap. His weight dropped over the years, and looked nothing like himself in his graduation pictures. Those were the happy days in his life. Those were the healthy days in his life. Ever since he graduated from college things had not been smooth. Everything is a mess.
