"I have to keep you safe," Beta Bailey says to me.
I follow Beta Bailey away from the fires, the explosions, and the screaming. All of the noise coming from the Larringer wolf pack is terrifying. I hope those giant wolves and that plump she wolf that was so rude to me suffer the most.
"Keep up," Beta Bailey growls at me. I am exhausted and I have been drugged, so it is hard for me to run as fast as I normally do even in my wolf form.
I listen for Alpha Kai. I need to know he is safe. I do not hear anything from him. He is silent in my mind. I am not sure if that is good or bad. I doubt he wants me listening to him as he murders people. I get that. I wonder, can I turn off and on his ability to listen to me?
