Scarlett POV Jaxen shot his mother a sidelong glance. “Mom, I’m on a tight schedule. If you dragged me here just to watch Scarlett play the victim, you’re wasting both our time.” His mother turned to me. “Scarlett, what do you have to say?” I almost laughed. “What can I say?” I didn’t care about chasing down his infidelity or naming names. I just wanted out. No more games with the prenup, no more chains. Just freedom. I met her eyes steadily. “I have little to say. How about this, Mom? Will you be our witness? Jaxen can meet me on Monday morning so we can sign the papers with the family attorneys and dissolve the mating contract. That’s all I want.” Jaxen let out a low, mocking sound. “Fine. Since you’re in such a hurry to end this, Monday it is. We’ll meet at the lawyer's office.”
