Chapter Ten - Final Pieces

I stood in the bathroom washing my hands, I took a deep breath and dried them. Being home felt good, I loved it, and everyone loved Flynn. Ev went on with her normal life and I busied myself with fixing the company. It was nice, I started a babysitting company, and babysat kids. 

I was working with designers and people who could help, but my problem was Hollance and Zachary. They were fighting the charges, even of murder. Flynn went to court three times already, being released and free of charges, but I knew they would keep trying. Hollance wanted to see me, kept trying to make plans, but I refused. 

 It had only been six months, that was six months of t*****e and building up. Someone one knocked on the door, I swallowed. "Who is it?" I asked and wiped my eyes. "Ev obviously, Flynn said you've been stressed, you know that's good for you." She snapped.

I chuckled, the one thing she hated about this, I got pregnant four months ago, in all honesty I really hated it. Flynn was so excited though, he convinced me not to get rid of it. Ev practically had a heart attack, she screamed and yelled, and threw a fit. Now she's all over it and wants the baby to call her Auntie Ev. 

"I know, but it isn't easy. I have hundreds of things going on right now, this baby is not helping." I said and opened the door. She smiled and touched my stomach. "Little baby Stacy is a good girl! She's just reacting to your stress, I read a whole book." She said and sat at the kitchen table. 

"Lucky you, I had to hire six people to help babysit so I still earn income while off work. Flynn is barely here, trying to start his own business, he agreed to help me." I put my knuckle in my mouth. "Flynn is just trying something new, he wants to help, Gronzes and Babies is going slow." She said. "I know!" I shouted. 

"Shh, no yelling. Go upstairs and sleep for a few hours." She demanded. "No! I want to see Flynn and he comes home late with Chief, I barely see him and it's pissing me off!" I exclaimed and crossed my arms. "I wish I could… you have to be patient." Someone opened the door. "Flynn is that you?" I stood up. 

“Hi.” He said and walked to me. "Your home early, I missed you." I said and kissed him, he smiled and covered my eyes. I bit my lip and smiled. "What are you doing?" I asked nervously. “Showing you something.” He said. "Showing me what? Did you get me something?" I asked. 

He walked me around, I felt stairs. We walked up together and he unlocked a door. "What room are we goi…" I stopped halfway. It was a nursery, painted yellow with butterflies, red dragonflies, and trees on the walls. I covered my mouth. One of the cribs I designed, a sphere with cushions, blankets, and dim lights inside was in the middle.

There were toys in the corner with a fence and a changing table. There was a bookcase, ceiling fan, the ground was layered with big foam puzzle pieces. There was a closet full of baby clothes and all things needed. I fought tears as I looked around, I smiled. "I'd take all the credit but Flynn did this, all by himself." Ev said. 

I looked at Flynn and hugged him. "I can't believe you managed to do this." I said and smiled. “It was necessary for our child.” He said and kissed me. I shook my head and squealed. "What if it's a boy?" I asked, most of the room was yellow. He walked to the closet and the other half everything was red, I giggled. "You had this all planned out huh? Well you have a few more months." I said. 

“I can't wait, but that's why I’m doing stuff in the meantime.” He said. "Will you be home more often?" I asked, he nodded and kissed my forehead. “Yes, I was making sure neither Hollace nor Zachery ever get out of prison.” He said. "Okay. So I don't have to worry anymore?" I asked, he touched my stomach. “No you don't. And when this baby is seven we're going to London again.”  He said and smiled.

I squealed and hugged him again. "I love you and I really love you." I kissed him and he chuckled. "Guys are we having lunch, I was promised lunch!" Ev yelled. I sighed. “Go get it.” Flynn yelled back at her. "Hahaha! You promised if I kept the secret." She said. I groaned and smiled. “Who’s” Flynn asked. 

"I kept your's you dummy. I knew about the nursery, and I didn't tell Milli. Now make me some lunch!" She sang that last part. I kissed Flynn's cheek. "Go on, I want to sit here for a little while." I said. “Okay.” He said and walked away. 

I sat down in a rocking chair facing the window. Flynn bought us a gorgeous three story house, six bedroom, three bath, nine acre land up in the mountains. Down the mountain was a gorgeous lake. I stared at it and rubbed my stomach, it was far from the city, and quiet, except Ev. 

 It was turning fall, my baby would be born in winter, wasn't what I wanted, but it would do. Flynn now had everything planned, from the nursery to the day I left to stay in the hospital till birth, I knew he was nervous. I saw a car driving up the driveway, it was Chief Williams, I smiled and licked my lips. 

"I have everything I need, Flynn, Williams, Ev." I muttered, I thought of Hollance, I got all cold, and wanted to shiver a bunch. I swallowed and shook away my thoughts. "Happy thoughts Milli, for the baby." I muttered. "Milli, I brought the food you asked!" Williams shouted. I stood up and walked downstairs 

He was standing at the steps, "Did you know about the nursery?" I asked. "Yep, I was told first." He said and smiled. I took the bag of food from him, he gave me a kiss on the head. "So have you talked to the judge?" I asked. 

"Flynn is free until my evidence comes up, there likely won't be anymore. Hollance is reaching his limit, he killed four cops. He's pissed off. He was hoping to get Flynn thrown in prison, then kill him." I swallowed. "He won't find you here." He rubbed my back. Flynn was making Ev a sandwich as she munched on chips. 

"Hey Chief, so any new news?" She asked. "No." He said and walked over. "How are you Flynn?" He asked, they shook hands. “Good, you?” He said. "Great actually, the wife and kids are coming over for Halloween." He said. "Could you guys stay over here? I hate Halloween, and now up here, please?" I begged. Flynn chuckled. 

"Fine, for the pregnant teenager, we'll stay." Williams said. "Halloween isn't for another two weeks." Ev said. "I don't care, I want to have it planned." I said, I sat down. "So how is the baby looking?" Williams asked. "Healthy and we still agreed it'll be a surprise. I don't want to know how many babies it is or genders." I said.

"Really? I would be dying to know, I would need to know." Ev said and cut her sandwich up. "Well Flynn and I aren't you." I said. “No, no. she’s over here in her own little word of nonsense.” Flynn said. "World of nonsense?" She scoffed. "I am not, my world is upright. Which is why on Halloween I'm going to the haunted house as a bunny." She said. 

“Right cause that makes sense.” Flynn said. "It does." She snapped. "Well our lovely couple here wanted a nice candle light soup diner, with only kissing, and eating." Ev said and hugged me from behind. "See you tomorrow." She whispered. 

I chuckled and patted her arms. "Bye, Flynn." She walked outside, Williams took a seat on the couch. I may have liked being alone in my house with Flynn, but I liked knowing I was safe. Williams usually stayed four nights out of the week, he lived alone, and he liked it up here. 

"We'll be upstairs." I said and dragged Flynn with me. I pulled him into the nursery and looked around, the lights were off now. There were lights in the corner with disks of water. Two were yellow and two were red, I watched as the water moved. "I can't wait to have this baby and spend most of my day in here." He sat down on the ground. 

"Play with the baby, feed it, change it. Watch it sleep, fall asleep in here, clean the mess. Other people complain, but all I want is to do it all." I said and walked closer to him. I sat on my knees and fixed my dress, he touched my stomach, I giggled. "What do you hope it is?" I asked. “A girl.” He said and kissed me.

"Really? Is that why it's mostly yellow?" I asked and stared at him. "Do you believe it was a bad idea to get pregnant?" I asked. “No that is absolutely up to you.” He said and rubbed my stomach. "But what do you think?" I argued, he sighed. “I think it’s a wonderful idea, but you shouldn't care about other people’s opinions.” He said.

"You mean Ev's, and everyone else. People don't think I'll be able to handle it, or stay sane." I said and kissed him. "What about that dinner I asked for?" I asked and put out my bottom lip. “You’ll have it. Why am I always asked to make food?” He asked.

"Well now I'm pregnant, too stree could hurt me." I teased, he picked me up and sat me in the rocking chair. "What's the baby's last name?" I asked. “Airest.” He said and laughed. "Why not Tseria? That's your actual last name?" I said. “Ture, Tseria.” He said. 

"Okay, so can we change our last names, I want to be a Tseria." I said. I gasped and leaned over, on hand on the floor. "Ow, that was a cramp." I muttered. “You okay.” He asked. "Yes, but I need water, and food." I said, he lifted me up and picked me up. He sat me on the rocking chair.

"I'm fine Flynn, this is natural." I said and smiled. “So, you look like you're in pain.” He said and ran down stairs. "Flynn come back!" I shouted and put my head back. “I’m getting food.” He yelled. "Okay, I'll read!" I grabbed a book and smiled. 

I opened it and read it out loud, I giggled and laughed at the story, it wasn't even that funny. "Oh Flynn, I feel so funny. I can't stop laughing, this little cheese guy is jumping!" I exclaimed and put my head back. “I bet it’s really funny.” He said and brought up a water jug and a platter with snacks on it.

"This cheese has little black eyes and a red bottom." I said and grabbed cheese. “Okay.” He said and gave a shrug. "You don't want to read the baby about bouncy cheese?" I asked and made a sandwich. “Aren't you.” he asked and ate cheese. "You aren't laughing." I said.

“Yes but I don't want to read it.” he said. "Why is it cute, very baby-like. Our little girl will love it." I said and ate some more, he pulled a stool over. "I like the walls, and the lights." I giggled. “Are you okay.” He asked. 

"Just giggly, I'm fine. It's normal, and crying, abnormal feelings and emotions." I admitted. "It's okay, but you have to promise to not leave, even if I scream and say it's all your fault." I said and held his hand. 

“And you will.” He asked. "Yes, every girl does, pregnancy is very painful and makes the woman say whatever comes to mind." I sighed. "Do we have car seats two in case?" I asked. Flynn's phone rang. “Yes inside of the basement.” He said and smiled. He stood up and walked outside. I watched him. 

"Flynn get down here!" Chief yelled. I stood up and Flynn tossed his phone down and ran downstairs. He slid onto the kitchen. "I told you buddy, I was going to get out, you couldn't keep me away. Hollance is dead, I did it myself." It was Zachary's voice. 

"Zachary put your g*n down, we surrender." Chief William's said. I swallowed and stood up, I walked to the banister. Zachary was standing in the kitchen with a pistol, he clenched his teeth. "All I want is to see her, I want to see Millicent." He demanded. “No. you're not going to see her.” Flynn said and pulled out a g*n.  

"Listen to me, I want to apologize. I really care about her, I killed Hollance to save her, I just want to say sorry." He laid his g*n down, Chief William's pulled out his taser. "Flynn put the g*n down." Chief said. I swallowed and walked down the stairs. Zachary ran over and smiled. 

"Your… pregnant?" He looked confused, he took a step up. Flynn reached for the g*n, I shook my head. "Yes, Flynn's baby. Zachary give yourself up, go back to prison." I said, he shook his head. "You can't, Millicent I love you. You have to run away with me, I came to take you." He said. 

"Why would you betray me for him? He killed your parents!" He punched the wall. "Zachary stop, you need to calm down. I'm safe here, I'll visit whenever you want, Hollance is dead right?" I asked. "No, damn you! He's on his way here, he knows you're here! He's going to blow this place up!" He yelled. I gasped and bent over. 

Flynn ran over, shoved Zachary out of the way and caught me. "Flynn, he's coming here!" I screamed, tears raced down my cheeks. "You are supposed to marry me! We were going to run away together, but you… you chose him!" Zachary screamed. Chief shot Zachary with a taser. 

"Get to the garage now! We have a military grade jeep down there." Chief William's said. He handcuffed Zachary and picked him up. "Hollance is completely out of his mind, he would have had to go through hell to get out." We all ran, well I kind of hobbled. I was slower than Flynn. I started crying and stopped. 

"Flynn I don't want to leave! I love it here!" I cried and put my head on him. Chief William's kept going, Flynn knelt to me. “We will come back I swear.” He said and picked me up. I gasped and held him, he carried me down to the car and laid me in the back seat. Chief tossed Zachary in the passenger seat and locked him to the door. 

Chief got in the driver and Flynn climbed in behind me. “Hey it’s okay, we’ll come back.” He said and held my face. "What if we don't, he's coming, he'll probably blow it up." I cried and put my head on him. "We'll have to hide again." I whispered, he rubbed my back and pulled me against him. 

"I love you, I may not have all of my fancy stuff, but I have you." I said and closed my eyes, he strapped me in loosely.

Chief Williams drove Flynn, Millicent, Ev, and himself to an apartment near the city. It was a quiet ride there, no one wanted to speak, but Zachary. Zachery sat there muttering, arguing, and claiming we knew nothing. Flynn shook his head with annoyance and held Millicent close as she slept. 

"Let me go! Hollance will kill us if he gets to us. He will kill her, but I can save her, me and me only. You have to believe me, it's the only way." He begged. Millicent instantly grabbed Flynn's hand when she heard Hollance. She moved closer. 

"Shut up, Zachary. I don't want to hear you." Flynn snapped before grabbing the man by the throat. The distance between them made it hard to hold on.

Zachary gasped and pulled away. "You are crazy, he will kill her. Do you think he wants her alive, not with your baby, not with whatever she can do." Millicent kicked his seat. He jumped away and yelped. "Say another word." She said. He swallowed and looked down. "We can handle him on our own." Flynn said, sitting back with Millicent.

"Yeah because running away will help!" He exclaimed, Millicent kicked the seat again. "We will be fine." She said and sat up. "Do we have any cloth or duck tape?" Flynn asked and looked around. "No because you kn…" Chief Williamd came back and hit him over the head. 

"So much better, now. Okay we only have one room, can use it. " He asked and picked up Zachary. "Sure if he's stuck in the bathroom and out cold." Flynn said and helped Milicent get out. Ev wiped her face and got out. "I may have complained a lot and been a baby, but I'm scared." She said. "About what?" Flynn asked.

Hearing Ev admit feelings was a new one. Not once did she ever show her emotional feelings. She was never scared. "I don't want to die." She said, Millicent hugged her. "We'll be okay, I promise." Ev hugged her back. 

"And wouldn't it be a happy ending if Hollance just left you alone?" Someone asked. Across from us was Hollance sitting on the back of a car. "Don't come over here, we will shoot!" Flynn yelled and pulled out a g*n. 

 "Oh I know, but that's what I want." He said. Millicent screamed and hit the floor. It was on point, the bullet went right in. She was bleeding from the stomach, her clothes soaking up blood. Flynn screamed as Hollance smiled. 

"See you soon baby. Alive and well, happy and content. Unknowing of this whole life." Hollance laughed and walked closer. Flynn shot him, he dropped to the floor. Millicent went still, "No!" Flynn screamed. 

Flynn woke up in his car, sitting in front of Millicent's old house. Her parent's cars were there. His car was filled with c4. Je was back, back before he ever killed her parents. Left with a choice whether to let them live or die.
