My beast is in a furious mood, having to leave the library and Nari has him wanting blood. She looked sad that I had to leave, if I am completely honest I wasn't happy about it either. I could feel the steam rolling off me as I stomped my way down to the games room. People would see me coming and get out the way, I didn't blame them at all, I was known for my temper.
Slamming the games room door open, I notice the two guards holding the females apart. Of course, Frah was one of the females, this she-wolf is turning out to be a right pain in my arse. Noticing me she pulls away from the guard and runs to me in a fake show of being afraid. Mentally I roll my eyes, her fake tears don’t work on me. Looking at the guard, he just shrugs his shoulders. The dramatic female goes to throw her arms around me, I step to the side and growl at her.
“Do not touch me.” The silly female froze, realising her mistake. I could smell her fear, I smirked to myself. She slowly took a step back, her fake tears had dried up but there was an obvious tremble to her. It gave me some satisfaction to know that my reputation precedes me. “What the hell is going on here?” I bellow through the room, every person bared their neck in a show of submission.
“Well,” One of the other quieter girls stands up and approaches me, “Prince Kurat, I do believe it all started with Frah, she was threatening Vinara.” The softly spoken Beta’s daughter informs me with a respectful bow.
“Thank you Rue.” she smiles and goes back to sitting with the other girls. I turn to the other two females.
“Is this true Vinara?” The thin girl with mousy brown hair looks scared.
“Yes , Prince Kurat.” I Just nod and turn to Frah.
“Why are you threatening the other girls?” She didn't get the chance to answer as Shiva, the other alphas' daughter jumped to her defence.
“Well to be fair, Frah is right. Why should we have to compete with them? We are the highest ranking females.” I honestly couldn't believe what I was hearing. The muscles along my jaw started to twitch. These stupid females think I care about rank. My beast growls in my head and flashes me an image of Nari.
He's right, none of these females can compete with her. Feeling agitated that I was dragged from my time with Nari to deal with this bullshit.
“Well let me tell both you high ranking females, I will not tolerate this kind of behaviour! It is not befitting of a Luna.” With that I spin on my heel and march out of the room. Mind-linking the guard to escort the females back to their rooms, where they are to remain. My blood was boiling at their sheer disrespect the two brats have. Deciding to go cool off I headed to the forest for a run, letting my beast out clear both our heads.
Not sure how long I had been out when I arrive back at the castle the sun has well and truly set. I knew I had missed dinner, so I head back to my room to shower. Passing Nari’s room her scent has my beast purring, I find myself smiling as I remember what Nari had said about hearing her wolf purr. I had just got out of the shower when a soft knock came, and her scent hit me. Without thinking I went to open the door while I dried my hair with one towel and had another wrapped around my waist. As soon as her eyes land on my almost naked body her eyes widen.
“Oh, sorry I can come back.” She stutters, while a pink blush appears on her beautiful face, her eyes never leave my body. My beast lets out a growl of approval, as she unintentionally licks her lips.
“Hey, come in, I'll put something on.” I said as I went into my closet, I couldn't help the smirk I had on my face.
“I didn't see you at dinner, I just wanted to check if everything was ok.” She calls from the other room, as I pull on a pair of baggy shorts, I find myself smiling too. She wanted to check on me. It wasn't until I came out of my closet that I noticed she only had on a small vest top and little shorts. My beast is almost drooling at the sight of her white milky skin.
“Are you hungry?” I just blurt out, I don't want her to leave. She just blinks her big stunning eyes at me.
“Sure, I could eat.” She says with a shrug of her shoulders. I have no idea what I am playing at but all I know is I feel better when she is near me. My beast is practically wagging his tail with delight.
“ Pizza ok ? I can call us some.” She smiles at me and nods.
The rest of the evening goes by in no time at all, she tells me stories of her growing up. I tell her the tales of my brothers and I. For the first time in my life I feel content, my beast is happy. The feeling is alien to me, scaring me almost.
She looks beautiful as she laughs, and her eyes sparkle. It is getting late, I can see Nari is getting tired and even though I don't want the night to end I know she needs rest.
“You are tired Nari.” I say as she covers her mouth with her hand as she yawns. She just smiles, and we head to the door.
“Thank you for tonight Kurat.” She says as she goes up on her tiptoes and kisses my cheek. The faint tingles as her lips touch my cheek, have me sucking in a deep breath, drowning in her scent. I clear my throat.
“Training in the morning, I mean I'll meet you here to walk down. Well, if you want to that is?” I manage to stutter out, as my beast laughs at me.
“Of course, that will be great. Goodnight.” I just wave, ‘Oh my goddess.’ I think as her door clicks shut, with a smile still on my face I fall into a deep sleep as her scent still lingers in my room.
