In the afternoon, no sooner had we returned than my father came to see us. Rey immediately bowed respectfully, “Alpha, good afternoon.”
Papa chuckled. "Good afternoon, good afternoon, Audrey. You're like a daughter to me; there's no need for formality," he said lightly, making Audrey and me smile.
"So? How was your day, girls? Hopefully, you enjoyed it.”
"Yes, Papa, we did. It was fun," I replied. "I'll show you everything we bought." I was quite excited, momentarily putting aside the less pleasant aspects of the day.
However, Father had a different plan, and I knew I couldn't avoid it when he gently suggested, "We'll certainly discuss your shopping and your day later, but could we perhaps set it aside for now?”
