PLAYING GAMES WITH THE DEVIL

1006 Words
I woke up early because I had classes. Then, I decided to check how many people viewed my blog post. I doubted they were that much since almost everyone went to the game yesterday. I picked up my laptop. Then I looked at the views. Yeah, there were just the usual.... 30,000 views?? What do you mean I got 30,000 views. Okay..., I doubt Ryder was part of 30,000. Besides, even if he was part who cares, right? I decided to have my bath since I had classes that morning. I looked over at Sarah, who was still in bed. I threw a pillow at her. "Wake up, we have class this morning." I said. "Cole, I don't want any cuddles this morning. You know what I said about love in the morning." She groaned from her sleep state. "First off, Eww. Second, wake up. We have Mrs. Crawford's class today." I said as I tried to get my routine in check. "Must we have class today? Can't we just like bounce?" She rolled out of bed. "Yeah, we definitely can. Just like the way Mrs. Crawford can bounce our GPA." I fake smiled. "Haha. Comedy gold." She said as she entered the bathroom. The day went practically normal. I was kind of expecting like a confrontation from the entire hockey team. I decided to round of my day in the library. Since I was doing this internship in the library to make my GPA higher. "Don't forget to lock up after dark." Miss Beakman; the librarian, instructed since she had this hot date tonight. "Don't worry, Miss B, I got you." I smiled practically, pushing her out of the door. "Are you sure?" She asked. "Sure, I'm sure." I waved her as I closed the door. Then, I settled in the librarian seat. I was so glad that there was not much of a turnout in the library today. This was going to be a good day. I could feel it. Someone kicked the door. With a hockey stick? I guess u spoke too soon. Ryder Blackwell strolled into the library as if he were looking for someone. Then our eyes met, and I immediately buried my head in my book. "Why did you do that?" He said, sounding angry as he dragged a chair to sit in front of me. "Well, hello to you too, Blackwell." I said with a fake smile. "I'm not here to be friendly, Lena." My heart did a little flip when he said my name. I think the asthma I didn't have was flaring up cos I wonder why my heart will be failing me for no good reason. "Then what are you here for?" I folded my arms. "Why did you write that blog post?" He frowned. "I always write the latest news for your information." I said, pretending to organise the desk. "Oh, so you writing about the lowest point in my career is 'latest news?'" He said, putting the latest news in air quotes. "I wouldn't call it a career." I said. "Then what would you call it? What I have been working on practically my whole life? How would you feel if some random person writes about you saying that your blog is absolute nonsense?" He said, looking into my eyes too intensely. "Then that would be a rumour. What happened yesterday was far from that." I pointed out. "But you were the reason I got benched. You ruined my jersey." He was pretty annoyed at this point. "But instead of you to go for your game, you threw a tantrum, Causing you to go late to your game." I stated. "You made me go late for my game by ruining my jersey. Then you have the audacity to write a blog post about it, and you can not even apologise?" He stood up. "I have been apologising since yesterday. What else do you want from me to go down on my knees?" I said sarcasticly. "I wish I could get that, but I would rather mess with you than to see you on your knees." Then he plastered that stupid boyish grin on his face. "Well..., good luck with that." I said as I flipped a new page in my book dramatically to indicate that the conversation was officially over. He walked over to the library shelves and started pucking out books. "What are you doing?" I said, standing up immediately. I saw him taking out his 12th book. "Nothing much. I'm just trying to pick a book to read." He said, removing more from the shelves. "Stop that." I held his arm. "The books are arranged alphabetically. It's going to be a hell of work for me if you continue taking them down without putting them back up." I stated. He wasn't even listening to me. "I just want to be smart like you, Lena. That is why I am trying to read these books." He feigned innocence. I picked up one of the books he threw on the floor. "How I'd 'Goldilocks and the three bears' supposed to make you smarter." I read the book cover in exasperation as he pulled out more books. He wanted to frustrate me the only way he could. Messing with he library. Touché Blackwell. He stopped and smiled at me. "I don't think reading is for me. Maybe watching you arrange all these books will be better." He smiled and walked over to one of the desks and sat on the table. I glared at him as I picked up a book. "Chop chop." He clapped. "We don't have all night, you know." He smiled. "You can't tell me what to do." I said. "Yeah, but I can bring down more books." He smiled at me. "So, are you going to be a good girl and pick up all these books, or am I supposed to make you work harder." The tone in his voice didn't sound like he was joking. I kind of liked it.
