Dominic was exhausted when Allie tucked him into bed.
"I had a good day, Mommy."
"I can tell. You look exhausted."
"Thank you for letting me keep the puppy."
"You deserve it. And I know that you will take care of him."
"I will, I promise."
"Good, now get some sleep. I'm sure we will have a busy and exciting day tomorrow."
"Can we go see Copernicus again?"
"I am sure that we can arrange it with Randy and Julie. Now, get some sleep and I will see you in the morning." Allie kissed his forehead and switched off the light. She made her way back upstairs and went out to sit on the porch with everyone else.
"Is he all settled in?"
"Yeah, I think that he was out before I switched off the light. He was so tired. He had such a great day."
"We did have kind of a busy day for him."
