CHAPTER 5: PARTY II

ETHAN’S POINT OF VIEW

the party is about to start and I have forgotten about Sophia. I should check on her. I think she is awake now.

I opened the door and I found her cover with a towel all over her body. Oh my god.” Ahhhhhh!” she screamed. I turn my back on her and faced the door. “ sorry I didn’t see anything.” I said. “ why didn’t you knock. What if I wasn’t wearing this towel. Please just go.” She said. “ I will go” I said as I left the room.

I return downstairs. I found Kim staring at me. “ Ethan didn’t you say you are going to check on your wife. So why are you sweating. Don’t tell me you had done something on her but so quick.” He said, Victor and Ryan laughed at me.

“ what the problem with it, she is his wife at the end of the day.” Victor said “ but you should have stayed a little longer. We wouldn’t have mind it , right” Ryan said and they continue laughing.

“ oh, guys stop it. I’m not sweating because of that. I found her. Coming out with a towel all over her body, coming out from the bathroom. And she shouted at me and kicked me out.” I said and they continue laughing

“ guys this is not funny” I said but they still didn’t stop.” You shouldn’t have listen to her. You should have pinned her on the wall and removed her towel and show her that you are a real mean” Victor said

A waiter was passing by. I called him. “ give me one glass please.” I said as I took the glass from the tray. “ you know if you don’t know what to say then please be quite.’ I said.

“ okay. Let get ourselves wet . let the party begin music.” Kim said. We took bottle of wine and putted it on the table. We drank. I think I drank seven glasses. We even played truth or dare. You know when playing truth or dare. I always chose the truth because I consider dare a bad side because they can dare you to do anything foolish.

When they ask me. I chose truth, the question that they asked me was that will I cheat on my wife. Honestly, I don’t know. I can’t just tell them I don’t know because you have to choose between yes or no.

I decided to take a drink . more questions arise and I didn’t like to answer them and I drank almost ten glasses. I was completely drunk. I didn’t even see what I was doing.

I remember. A girl kissing me because they dare her to kiss any man she liked to kiss. No! Sophia, where is Sophia. “ Victor, where is Sophia?” I asked. “ I haven’t seen her. Hey buddy relax enjoy the party. I’m sure she is enjoying herself.” Victor said.

And because I was totally drunk , I listen to him. But I was still worried about her. She is my responsibility, if anything happens to her , I will death. Mom told me to take care of her.

“ I will be back.” I said but Ryan stopped me. “ where do you think you are going Ethan?” he said. “ I’m looking for Sophia.” I said. “ in this state?” Kim asked.

“ what wrong with it. I’m not that drunk, I’ totally fine. I should find my wife remember she doesn’t know any one here.” I said and Kim laughed at me. “ Ethan, do you see yourself. You are drunk, I think you drank 15 or 17 glasses. If you decided to drink maybe you wouldn’t have drunk this much.” Victor said laughing. “ and what with this thing of yours, every time when we play truth or dare, you always choose the truth but in the end, you refuse to answer the question. You are so boring, Ethan.” Kim said.

“You want me to choose dare so that you can dare me to have s*x with a random girl like they did to you Kim,” I said and they all laughed at him.

I drank another glass and left. I looked for Sophia but I didn’t find her. “Ethan, wait.” I heard a sexy voice calling my name and I turned to face the person, only to find that it was my ex-girlfriend, Emma.

“Emma, what do you want?” I said.

“I want you,” she said as she pinned me on the wall and kissed me like I liked her. Because I was drunk and in no state to fight her, I let her.

SOPHIA’S POV

I am tired of staying here, I think I should leave. But where is Ethan? I need to find him. If he wants to stay, he can stay but I can’t stay here any longer.

I looked for Ethan but I was shocked to see him kissing a girl. Wow. My husband is kissing another girl right in front of me. Is he doing this on purpose? Does he think I will try to act as his wife?

Does he want to show me that I am his fake wife? You may have showed me but that changes nothing. I turned to leave, only to find Victor surprised to see that I had seen Ethan kissing another woman.

I continued walking. I went to the car and told the driver to take me home. He asked me about Ethan and I told him not to worry about him.

When I arrived home, the first thing I did was freshen up. After that I went to the balcony because I needed fresh air. I still need to believe that I am married, that this is my new life.

My life as Sophia Trivias has ended. That name was given to me by my adoptive parents at a time I thought I had everything I want, that I have a mom, a dad and a sister; I will go to school, fall in love and have a boyfriend, get married and have children.

I didn’t know that my life would be different from Isabella’s. I didn’t know that an adoptive child and a biological one are treated different. I know that a Isabella is the rightful heir to the Travis empire and I’ve never wanted anything that belonged to her.

Getting married was not something I was ready for. I heard my phone ring. I answered without looking at who was calling. “Hello.”

“Sophia, dear.” That voice! It was dad.

“Dad, is that you?” I didn’t want to cry. I didn’t want him to know that I was weak or that I missed him, or at least the man I thought he was before Isabella was born.

“Yes, dear it’s me. How are you doing? Are they treating you well there?” He asked.

“Don’t worry about me dad, I’m fine.” I said.

“How can I not worry about my own daughter?” Since when did he consider me his own daughter? Or was I blind?

When mom treated me like I was a servant, he was always quiet. He never spoke for me, never took my side either but now he claims that I am his own daughter.

“Which daughter are you talking about? Are you talking about the one who ran away or are you talking about the one you traded for money?” I asked. I know my words are harsh but I don’t blame myself.

“Dear, I know you are angry but I am still your father,” he said. My father? Which father? Whose father?

“Dad, you called me to know how I’m doing, then it will please you to know that I am fine. My husband treats me well. My mother-in-law too. Everyone loves me. Good night, I want to sleep.” I dropped the call.

My mom hates me and my dad kept quiet like a mute person. Mom controls him. It’s like she is the husband and he is the wife.

No, Sophia. Time to sleep. Stop worrying about people who don’t care about you.

The next morning, I woke up, took a bath and went downstairs to eat breakfast. I found my mother-in-law, Lillian and Liam only. That meant one thing, Ethan hasn’t come back or if he did, he slept in another room.

“Good morning,” I said, sitting down. “Good morning, dear, I hope you slept well.” Mother-in-law said. At that time, I wished she was my biological mother or my adoptive mother. It had been so long since anyone asked me that question.

“I am fine, mom and I slept well even though I returned a little late.” I said. “ where is Ethan? Didn’t he come back last night?” mother-in-law asked and I stopped drinking coffee.

I look at mother-in-law and Liam, wait why is Liam looking at me like that. Is there something wrong in my face, but I didn’t put any powered.” Dear, where is Ethan?” mother-in-law asked again.

“ well Ethan... I left him at the party yesterday. It was boring so I decided to return. Didn’t he return last night but I thought he returned last night, maybe slept in the guest room.” I said as I felt like Liam is still looking at me.

I took a glass of water and drank it. I heard my phone vibrate. I look at it, only to find a unknow number sending me photos of a girl with Ethan naked on the same bed.

Someone took my phone while still looking at the photos. “ hey my phone.” I said, scared that they will see the photos and I was late. “ mother-in-law look at this. Your son. It hasn’t been two weeks since him and Sophia got married and he has already started to do this. He has already started sleeping with other women. Wow” Liam said , why did he take my phone. Now I have to pretend like I’m hurt about what Ethan did. I got up and ran straight to my room to cry maybe for real I don’t know.
