It was seven a.m. when Hank’s alarm went off as he lay in bed, newly awake. He immediately felt sick to his stomach. The realization hit him immediately that in three hours he would be sitting in the Commissioner’s office, probably wetting his pants. He felt like he might be able to do his best Bill Russell imitation, but that feeling passed, and he didn’t. He knew he needed to shower and dress, eat some breakfast if he could, go to the Club to pick up Bubba, and bring the newspaper so he and Bub could read Will’s article together. Hank had read the first one the day after the fight (twice) and felt it was neutral, as he had been hoping Will would make it.
