We met at a safe house forty miles from the ruined lumber mill. Silverfang and Nightshade warriors worked together, helping each other and sharing food. The freed prisoners were being taken to a safe place for medical care.
Marcus sat across from me in the planning room, looking at the papers I got from the mill office. His face was hard to read, but he looked tense.
"The Seattle place," he said finally. "It's called NeuralSync, a tech startup. They have thirty human workers. It's a cover for what really goes on underneath."
"What do they do?" I asked.
