The emergency council started before sunrise. I stood at the head of the table while six Alphas stared at me like I was already dead.
Alpha Reeves didn't wait for me to speak. "You released traitors."
The words dropped into silence. I kept my hands flat on the table to stop them from shaking. Through the fractured bond, I felt Daxon somewhere in the Packhouse. His rage pressed against my ribs like broken glass.
"I exiled wolves who made impossible choices," I said. My voice came out steady. Good. "They acted to save their children."
