. . . . . . (early July)
Did anyone get the number of that bus? EVERYTHING hurt. Places of mine that I previously was unaware of hurt. I think my hair was even registering pain. I groaned in misery and tried to open my eyes.
/:Oh that is a lot of light.:/
I screamed. Aiden shot out of the bed next to me, his body shaking as he fought shifting. Someone kicked the door in. Ah, it was Bryce, he must have been in the other room. He skidded across the floor, leaving deep gouges as his hands and feet had already grown claws.
Everyone froze, panting heavily. Bryce was shaking when he growled.
"Why are we screaming now?" I put my hands over my face and whined. Aiden growled at Bryce.
"I'm so sorry, Bryce." I giggled sheepishly; several guards were in the doorway now. "My wolf spoke to me, and it scared the shït out of me, I'm so sorry!!" Bryce laughed and sat down abruptly.
"Mir scared the shït out of me the first time too, don't worry." The guards laughed and filtered away, talking to yet more unseen people in the other room. I waited until it was just the three of us again.
"I'm still sorry. I'm not sure my heart can take another shock right now, I'm sure everyone else feels the same right now." They both nodded and I moved on the bed, waving my arm to get them to sit with me. They both complied. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes before reaching out for them to hold my hands.
We sat like that for several seconds before I let out my breath, opened my eyes, and looked at them calmly.
"Okay, let's figure out what the fück happened." They both nodded and their brows pulled together in thought. "I was asleep after White Moon." Aiden looked towards Bryce.
"I fell asleep right after, what was it... Gypsy Claw? Moon? Something." Bryce nodded and closed his eyes.
"Moon. Let me think... I talked Lilian to sleep and then joined Mir so I could speed like crazy, without alarming anyone."
"That's how we got here so fast," I noted, to his assent.
"Rhys woke me up when we passed into River Talon territory. That's when I accidentally scared the shït out of Bryce." Aiden rubbed his hand through his hair. "I should have just left it after the car stopped, but I thought it was funny, so I played it up." He sighed and rubbed his face. Bryce shook his head.
"Don't do that, no blame, not on anyone. Let's just keep going. Um, I chased after you so, Sinah?" I nodded.
"Yeah, Lilian and I were near the car with Luna Marie." I paused. "She should be here, too." Aiden's eyes clouded for a second.
"I asked my Dad to send her here, she's on her way. What happened next?"
"Um..." I looked down. "Gigi came out and took me to the infirmary, she said she had something for me." I closed my eyes and squeezed their hands before continuing.
"And then she killed me..." Aiden rubbed his spare hand on his chest.
"Then what I felt..." He let out his breath in a rush. "I was feeling the mate bond, I couldn't think, I just knew I needed to get to you." Bryce nodded.
"I thought so, so I ran to find you, Sinah." He looked at me, frowning thoughtfully. "I figured it was the mate bond and knew you were in danger. I went to try to save you." I smiled at him. The door opened and Lilian walked in.
"How did you find me?" We shifted around to make room for Lilian between Aiden and Bryce. "You left before I went to the infirmary, how did you pick up my scent so fast?" We sat silently for a moment while Bryce's eyes widened as he remembered something.
"i-i didn't, i heard a v-voice." We gaped at him. "I-i think it was the Goddess." I gasped and they all looked at me.
"i saw her." Their eyes were huge at my whisper. "When I w-was d-dead." I stared at them for a long time, tears slipping silently down my cheeks as the memories flooded back. Lilian threw herself at me across the bed, wrapping me in a desperate hug. Bryce scrubbed his eyes with his fist. Aiden pulled me to him, and we all shifted around to be in a big group hug. I took a deep breath and straightened back up. Everyone looked at me.
"She brought me to her. To HER. I got to watch my wolf's rebirth. As a gift, from the Goddess herself."
"Holy shït, that's... Fück!" Aiden stuttered in amazement. Bryce's eyes were huge, and Lilian squeezed me as tightly as she could.
"That's fücking amazing, babe!" I nodded.
"Then she sent me back and commanded me to shift." I shook my head at the memory. "That fücking sucks only on the FIRST time, right?" The boys both nodded. "Thank the Goddess." I paused for a second.
"I can't remember what it felt like to be fully Wolf, I just remember it was incredible. Then I passed out." Aiden breathed out slowly.
"I was there, I saw you transform." Bryce nodded.
"I was too. I tackled Gigi before Aiden broke through the window, but I swear she was already dead before I touched her. I don't understand." Aiden sat up suddenly.
"Wait, you said Gigi was dead... BEFORE Sinah shifted?" Bryce hung his head.
"I am sorry." Aiden shook his head.
"No, you said before I broke through the window. That was before Sinah shifted, but I SAW Gigi AFTER she shifted. She was radiating an INSANE amount of power, she commanded me like I was nothing." Bryce gasped.
"That's what I heard! I was stuck under a command from the Goddess, and I heard someone yelling at you."
"Then she just vanished, and I saw her on the floor, halfway across the room from where she was when she disappeared. Then someone tackled me." Bryce raised his hand and Aiden grinned at him. "I think I was broken at that point anyway, after the crazy roller coaster the mate bond had just taken me on. Um... and then I remember Derek slugged me and I blacked out." Lilian laughed.
"Hey, I was there for that! Luna Marie went into labor right next to me. Everyone was a total mess before Bryce started yelling at them."
"Yeah, thanks for giving me the hundredth heart attack of the night, by the way." Bryce grinned at her. "Sinah had woken up and we saw her legs and Sinah passed BACK out, like seriously, you have a problem, girl." We all stopped to laugh, and he pointed at Lilian accusingly. "And then THIS one fücking screamed and it was the last I could take. I don't remember after that until I woke up this afternoon on your couch in there." Lilian giggled.
"Sorry about that." She sat up and looked at the ceiling. "Hmm, then... Beta Mike came and got a couple guys to carry you guys inside and we went to the Alpha office. Alpha Jake was mad that no one knew what the fück was happening, and I told him that Luna Marie told me that Aiden likes introductions to be confusing."
"Not THIS confusing, damn!" He shook his head. "All in favor of me NEVER being in charge of introductions ever again say 'aye'." We all laughed.
And said 'aye'.
