/:So Bryce has chosen the kid as his new best friend this week?:/

/:Apparently, I haven't seen him this interested in a wolf in years.:/

Bryce had refused to give up the driver's seat and insisted the kid sat up front with him, 'navigator' he claimed. None of us fought it, the boy actually smiled at Bryce. Kyle was idly sorting through the leftovers in the mini fridge and Sinah and Lilian were playing some cooperative adventure game. I was sitting on the couch, staring out the window, talking to Rhys.

/:Mir isn't sure, but they think he might be alpha blood.:/

/:How the hell did that ass manage to kidnap an alpha's kid?:/

/:We killed him too fast. We could have asked.:/

I chuckled softly at my wolf and looked around at my little pack, sighing to myself.

/:If he stays...:/

/:I'm not recruiting random wolves, Rhys.:/

/:You are aware of what this pack is, aren't you?:/

/:Damage control, we established that.:/

/:I'm telling Lilian you said that, but no.:/ I grinned, I had no doubt I was going to get yelled at by Lilian later now.

/:Fine, I'll bite. What is this pack, Rhys?:/

/:Led by an asshole, apparently.:/ I choked on a laugh and Sinah looked at me curiously. I shook my head and closed my eyes, resting my head back on the cushion with a grin.

/:Okay. I am an alpha wolf, with a good lineage, a strong wolf, well trained and groomed for the Alpha position. A natural leader.:/

/:We are more than that, dumbass.:/

/:Enlighten me.:/

/:You are a late baby, Aiden. Wolves never have pups as old as Becca and Jake were.:/ My eyes opened and I frowned slightly. /:Why do you think the Goddess would wait until after your brother already had an heir before giving you to Becca and Jake?:/

/:Because I was never supposed to lead River Talon.:/ I sighed and Sinah glanced back up at me. /:We're a special wolf too, aren't we.:/ It wasn't even a question and I could see curiosity crossing Sinah's features.

/:Proudly. We're our mate's other half, the Goddess wasn't about to give Selene a normal wolf to protect her. We're just stronger, faster, bigger, blah blah blah, because that's what our mate needs.:/ My eyes narrowed and I growled possessively, I now had Lilian and Kyle watching me curiously as well, but Sinah sighed and snuggled into my side.

/:Because she's a special wolf. Because she can heal.:/

/:River Talon knows, and they've probably spread the word to White Moon by now.:/

/:The little she-wolf and her mate are proof of her abilities.:/ My arm tightened around Sinah, and I glared at a spot on the wall. Everyone in the camper was staring at me now, waiting for me to speak. /:Proof we left behind us.:/

/:Didn't ask anyone to keep quiet about them either.:/

/:We have to keep her safe, she's our everything.:/

/:The best way to do that is with a strong pack, Alpha Aiden.:/ I growled darkly and everyone looked concerned.

"It's alright, Gypsy Moon." I sighed and Kyle and Lilian murmured soft 'yes alpha's. Sinah hugged me and Bryce turned his attention back to the road.
