Malachi’s POV
When I woke, I felt the same, but different. It was a strange feeling. My body ached to see Rae. I had no doubt she would be freaking out when she woke. I knew Mattie would have it under control, but it didn’t stop me from being overprotective and desperate to see her and reassure her.
I could smell her delicious scent before I could see her, and when she and Mattie walked into the room, I was relieved. She looked well. In fact, she looked positively radiant. She seemed to have a new natural glow that emanated from her.
“Whoa” were her first words, which surprised me.
“What’s wrong?” I asked as Rae and Mattie looked at one another.
“Um, Rae, move your hair a minute,” Mattie asked.
And when she did, my eyes widened. “What?” she said, worry in her tone.
“Your Marks,”
