Back in his guest quarters, Cahir heard a knock at the door.
Aiden opened it to find Xandar standing outside.
"Alpha Xandar requests an audience with His Majesty." Aiden turned to look at Cahir.
Cahir stood by the window. At the announcement, he turned around, lips curving into a mocking smile.
"Let him in."
Xandar entered the room.
"What is it, Xandar?" Cahir leaned against the windowsill, arms crossed, tone utterly casual.
Xandar walked to the room's center, attempting to meet Cahir's eyes on equal footing but ultimately avoiding that razor-sharp gaze.
"Your Majesty, I heard you're taking an omega from our pack." Xandar worked to keep his voice calm.
"That's right." Cahir nodded. "That omega is my fated mate. Is there a problem?"
