Smoke enveloped the eastern trail leading to the borders of Silver Fang Pack. Aurora's car had slammed into a tree trunk. Her head dropped forward, hands slipping from the steering wheel.
Her vision was blurring, blood dripping from a deep cut on her shoulder, running down to her fingers.
The windows were cracked. Her car door had been forced open earlier by one of the attackers who had yanked her out and slammed her to the ground. Just as her wolf had started healing her, a needle pierced her skin and injected something dark into her veins.
It felt like a thousand deadly needles stabbing her from the inside. Her wolf couldn’t fight it, no matter how hard it tried. They laughed, kicked her, spat on her. She fought back, but the poison was eating her strength. Fast.
