Chapter 64 It had been two whole days since the incident in the garden and Aurora hadn’t said a single word to Rowan. She hadn’t seen him either, not properly. He had left her food by the door every morning and sometimes she’d hear him outside, but he never knocked. She didn’t want to admit that part of her expected him to knock, that part of her had listened closely, waiting, hoping, then getting angry when he didn’t. That morning though, she woke up feeling different. Her body wasn’t hurting like it used to, her head wasn’t pounding, and her breathing felt light for the first time in days. Her dreams hadn’t been filled with blood or rejection, just silence and fading shadows. She sat up, stretched, and allowed her feet to touch the cold floor, welcoming the chill against her skin.
